Introducing the song, the late singer explained that he wrote the song to assure people not to be sad when losing a loved one.

AceShowbiz - Earlier this month, Jonghyun held a solo concert entitled "Inspired" at the Olympic Handball Gymnasium in Seoul. During the show, the lead vocalist of SHINee revealed five new tracks, including "Only One You Need".

Introducing the song, Jonghyun explained, "It's a song I wrote because I wanted to say, 'When you feel pain because a loved one used to be there and is now gone, don't be too sad." The songs were scheduled to be released in January 2018, but the late singer did not announce it at all at the concert. Instead, he performed the track for the first time.

"Only One You Need" might be an upbeat song, but many fans believed that Jonghyun wrote the song for his family, friends and fans who would be in deep sorrow after his death. A fan commented, "All this time he planned everything ahead and even wrote a song for the outcome of his action.. This cruel world did you wrong."

It remains unknown whether or not SM Entertainment will release his last solo album.

As previously reported, Jonghyun was pronounced dead on December 18 after being found unconscious in a residential hotel. Police believe he died from inhaling toxic fumes as they found coal briquettes burnt on a frying pan upon arriving at the place.

The "End of a Day" singer reportedly had done filming the music video for his solo track as well as a photo shoot for the album's cover art on December 12, 14 and 15, just days before his death. An insider revealed that the album would have a brighter concept of "Jonghyun who loves music. I didn't suspect anything odd about him while we were working together."

On Thursday morning, December 21, SM Entertainment's artists and fans gathered at Seoul's Asan hospital to send him off. SHINee's Minho and Jonghyun's sister led the procession, while his other groupmates carried the casket along with Super Junior's Leeteuk, Lee Donghae and Eunhyuk.
