Legendary has unleashed the first trailer for "Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again". The just-released video features Meryl Streep's Donna Sheridan-Carmichael who takes fans on a trip down memory lane, with British actress Lily James playing the young version of Sophie's (Amanda Syefried) mother.

Set against ABBA's song "Dancing Queen", the approximately-two-and-a-half-minute video shows "how it all began" in Donna's life. It shows Jeremy Irvine as the young version of Donna's husband Sam Carmichael (Pierce Brosnan) who, back in the days, is engaged to another woman while at the same time enjoying his hot fling with Donna.

After learning about the truth, a sad Donna leans on her best friends and fellow Donna and the Dynamos bandmates, Tanya (Jessica Keenan Wynn) and Rosie (Alexa Davies), whose older versions are played by Christine Baranski and Julie Walters respectively. The fun trailer also introduces us to the young versions of Donna's other love interests, Harry (Hugh Skinner) and Bill (Josh Dylan), whose older versions are portrayed by Colin Firth and Stellan Skarsgard respectively.

There are also glimpses of other characters, including Dominic Cooper's Sky, Sophie's fiance. But one new character succeeds in stealing attention, as Cher can be seen appearing at the end of the trailer as Sophie's grandmother, Ruby. "Let's get the party started!" a glammed-up Ruby says.

Written and directed by Ol Parker, the sequel to the 2008 "Mamma Mia!" is set to arrive in the U.S. this coming summer, on July 20, 2018, within days of the 10th anniversary of the original's release. It's also supported by the likes of Andy Garcia and Naoko Mori among other cast members.

Seyfried previously talked to EW about what to expect from the sequel, promising it would be "better than the original." She revealed that it would dip into the past to tell us the story of Donna when she's young and how she came to run an inn on a small Greek island, as well as her romance with three young hunks, while "having the time of her life."

"As soon as you see Lily on screen, you're like, 'Oh my God, that's Donna! I'm seeing Donna when she was wild and young and free, and she has the essence that Meryl brought to it,' " Seyfried said. "And it's kind of extraordinary."
