'Game of Thrones': This Is What the Mountain Looks Like Without His Helmet
TV

Actor Hafthor J. Bjornsson shares on Instagram a behind-the-scenes photo showing his character's zombified face under the helmet.

AceShowbiz - The Mountain always uses his helmet since his return in "Game of Thrones" season 5, but his bloodshot eyes and the dead-looking flesh around them hint that his face is scary. In the season 6 finale, he took off his helmet when he tortured Septa Unella (Hannah Waddingham), but his face wasn't seen with the dark lighting in the brief scene.

Now, we finally get a clear look at the Mountain a.k.a. Gregor Clegane's zombified face. Actor Hafthor J. Bjornsson took to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes photo of himself in his character makeup without his helmet, kissing his ladyfriend.

The Mountain was poisoned by Oberyn Martell's (Pedro Pascal) sword during trial by combat in season 4. Cersei (Lena Headey) then gave her consent to Qyburn (Anton Lesser) to perform a series of experiments to save his life, with the consequence of transforming him into something else.
