Four New Episodes of 'Game of Thrones' Leak Online Before Season 5 Premiere

The excitement for the new season of "" was spoiled when four episodes of the fifth season were leaked online before the show's season premiere on Sunday, April 12 on HBO. The leaked episodes surfaced in standard definition on torrent sites Saturday and have been downloaded more than 100,000 times within the first three hours they were available.

Addressing the leak, the cable network says in a statement, "Sadly, it seems the leaked four episodes of the upcoming season of 'Game of Thrones' originated from within a group approved by HBO to receive them. We're actively assessing how this breach occurred."

Just a few days shy of "" season 5 premiere, TBS' "" came up with its own version of the hit HBO series. The talk show has just debuted a fake animated series based on the world of Westeros and asked author George R.R. Martin to introduce the sneak peek.

Despite being described as a "brand new cartoon series for kids," "Lil Thrones" doesn't attempt to tone down the R-rated scenes as the sneak peek includes some nudity and violent scenes, including showing Ned Stark's severed head.

The new "A Song of Ice and Fire" book won't be coming anytime soon, but George R.R. Martin has shared a teaser from the highly anticipated sixth novel, "The Winds of Winter". The author released on his website a chapter from the highly anticipated book told from the perspective of Sansa Stark.

The excerpt which contains spoilers for "" fans focuses on Alayne, the alias of Sansa while she's living with Lord Baelish a.k.a. Littlefinger in the Vale. The last time Martin wrote a chapter from Sansa's point of view was in the fourth novel, "A Feast for Crows".

Addressing the show's future, the author of "A Song of Ice and Fire" novel series which the show is based on wrote on his blog he would love to see the show run for ten years, but right now no one knows when the show will end. "I allowed that ten years sounded fine to me. I continue to hear similar sentiments from HBO every time I have a meeting with them, be it in LA or New York," he said, before adding, "Right now, 'Game of Thrones' is guaranteed only six seasons. That's all HBO has officially committed to, by contract. We can speculate about additional seasons beyond that, but that's all it is, speculation."

Early ideas for George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire", which HBO's popular series "" is based on, have leaked, revealing a shocking love story that fans of the show might never imagine. British booksellers Waterstones tweeted (and then deleted) photos of a three-page letter from the author to his publisher HarperCollins, pitching an outline for a proposed trilogy.

Among some details mentioned in the letter is a love triangle involving Arya Stark, Jon Snow and Tyrion Lannister. Martin wrote, "Their passion will continue to torment Jon and Arya throughout the trilogy, until the secret of Jon's true parentage is revealed in the last book." To further complicate things, Tyrion falls "helplessly in love with Arya Stark" and this will lead to a "deadly rivalry between Tyrion and Jon Snow."

Meanwhile, Cersei Lannister is still mad at her brother Tyrion whom she blames for the death of her son Joffrey, calling him a "little monster." Tyrion himself is now on the run and is somewhere far from King's Landing. He is seen talking with Lord Varys about who deserves to take the throne. The video features Daenerys although only her eyes are seen. There's also a glimpse of The Great Sept in King's Landing, someone playing with a toy stag which is the sigil of House Baratheon, Reek and Ramsay Snow meeting, someone fighting, Melisandre, men carrying banners on horses and one of Dany's dragons.
