'Game of Thrones' Season Finale Preview: The Battle of the Blackwater's Aftermath

The medieval series' Sunday, May 27 episode ends with Tywin stopping Cercei from giving her son poison as he announces that the Lannisters have won the battle of the Blackwater. In the finale episode, King Joffrey rewards his followers while Tyrion Lannister finds himself in a strange situation. As Theon Greyjoy stirs his men to action, Maester Luwin offers some final advice. Meanwhile, Brienne of Tarth silences Jaime, and Jaqen H'ghar presents Arya with a gift. 'Game of Thrones' Photo Gives First Look at Blackwater Battle
May 19, 2012 09:05:50A week before the Battle of the Blackwater erupts on "Game of Thrones", the first look at the epic fight has been released online. The photo features Bronn (Jerome Flynn), Tyrion's right hand man and Commander of the City Watch, taking aim with his bow and flaming arrow, while King's Landing serves as the backdrop.
In the penultimate episode of the show's season 2, the Blackwater battle will take place at night. Executive producer David Benioff teased about the scene, "Flaming arrows at night look gorgeous." Meanwhile, Liam Cunningham who plays Davos Seaworth gushed, "[It's] gonna be immense. I think it's gonna be beautiful."

'Game of Thrones' Finally Renewed for Third Season
April 11, 2012 01:04:45"Game of Thrones" is here to stay. HBO finally announced on Tuesday, April 10 that the record-setting series will be back for a third season. The drama fantasy has shown an excellent rating performance in the second season which gave no reason why HBO will not renew it.
"Series creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss raised our expectations for the second season - and then surpassed them," President of HBO Programming Michael Lombardo said in a statement. "We are thrilled by all the viewer and media support we've received for the series, and can't wait to see what Dan and David have in store for next season."

'Game of Thrones' Season 2 Gets Premiere Date
January 14, 2012 09:01:33HBO has unveiled the return date of "Game of Thrones". Having been teased in some promo videos, the second season of the critically acclaimed series that is based on George R. R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" is now slated to premiere at 9 P.M. on Sunday, April 1.
The new chapter of the medieval fantasy series will see Stannis Baratheon, the brother of late King Robert Baratheon, trying to seize the Iron Throne from the wicked King Joffrey. Meanwhile, Robb Stark who has been named King in the North seeks revenge for his father's death.
