The country star's 12th studio effort, which will likely feature the Gwen Stefani-inspired 'Came Here to Forget', is called 'If I'm Honest' and is due out on May 20.

AceShowbiz - After releasing "Came Here to Forget", Blake Shelton wasted no time announcing his next album. The country crooner revealed on Tuesday, March 8 that he's dropping his 12th studio effort, "If I'm Honest", on May 20 via Warner Music Nashville.

"This is the most excited I've been about a new album since the release of my second record," Shelton said of his upcoming project in a press release. The sophomore set he's referring to was 2003's "The Dreamer" that included the hit "The Baby".

"If I'm Honest" serves as a follow-up to "Bringing Back the Sunshine", which topped the Billboard 200 chart following its release in September 2014. "Came Here to Forget" arrived earlier on Tuesday as the first preview of Shelton's new LP.

Written by Craig Wiseman and Deric Ruttan, the song was inspired by Shelton's highly-publicized relationship with Gwen Stefani. The two were romantically linked following divorces from their respective partners last year.

"I've had a lot of music over the years," Shelton said about the tune. "But I don't think I've ever had a song before that's such a direct look into my life."
