The 65-year-old actor offers to compensate fans after he allegedly threw their cellphones off the rooftop of a Restaurant in Carmel, California on Thursday, February 11.

AceShowbiz - Bill Murray was accused of throwing fans' phones after they snapped photos of him. The incident happened on Thursday, February 11 at the Vesuvio in Carmel, California, a popular destination for celebrities who played in the Pebble Beach golf tournament.

The "Rock the Kasbah" star reportedly became very angry when some fans repeatedly took pictures of him and got too close to him. When flashes started going off less than 10 feet away from the actor, he was furious and grabbed three phones before throwing them over the restaurant's second floor rooftop.

The owner of the restaurant, Scott Pepe, told TMZ that Murray wasn't drinking at the time. Police received a complaint about the incident at 10:30 P.M, but by the time they arrived at the venue, Murray had already left. Pepe later said that the incident made him change his policy - no phones and no pictures - since a lot of celebrities have become the restaurant's frequent visitors.

The police spoke to Murray on Friday and he offered to pay for the damage to the phones. Fortunately, the phones' owners agreed not to press any charges against the actor.
