AceShowbiz - Following her husband Rene Angelil's death, another sad news comes from Celine Dion. Her elder brother Daniel Dion is currently battling cancer. According to her sister Claudette Dion, Daniel may only have a few days to live.

Daniel is suffering from cancer of the throat, tongue and brain. He's hospitalized in Montreal. Claudette said that her brother's illness was similar to Rene's. He's currently surrounded by family, including their 89-year-old mother. Celine's rep has confirmed reports about Daniel's prognosis.

The news about Daniel's condition comes less than a day after Celine's husband passed away. As of now, the "My Heart Will Go On" hitmaker is preparing for Rene's funeral. Celine wrote in a statement posted on her official Facebook that Rene's funeral would be held at a place in accordance with his final wishes.

"According to his final wishes, his Funeral will be held at Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal, where 21 years ago, he chose to marry the one who will remain as the great love of his life, the artist for which he had the most respect, the woman who gave him light and happiness until his very last breath," read the statement.

According to the Facebook post, a Chapel of Rest will be open to the public on January 21 followed by a religious service on January 22. A public memorial in Las Vegas, where Celine is now on an extended residency, is scheduled on February 3 at the Caesars Palace Colosseum.

Meanwhile, Celine's singer pal Mariah Carey expressed condolences to her. "Dear Celine, I'm heartbroken for you and your family upon hearing the devasting news about Rene," Mariah wrote alongside a sweet black-and-white Instagram picture of Celine and Rene. "I know there's nothing I can say to take the pain away but I'm sure the memories will comfort you now and always. My deepest condolences to you and your family. Love always, Mariah."
