Vin Diesel took to Facebook to announce that Jackson would be back to reprise his role as Augustus Gibbons in the third installment of the 'XXX' movie series.

AceShowbiz - Fans have already known that Vin Diesel's next project besides "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is "XXX: The Return of Xander Cage". The latter has just taken a big step ahead as Diesel announced that Samuel L. Jackson would return to reprise his role as Augustus Gibbons. Besides the casting news, Diesel gave away some other updates about the movie including some concept arts.
Diesel made the announcement through his Facebook page by uploading a photo of himself and Jackson which was taken from the first "XXX" movie. "Excited to work with Sam again... his portrayal of Gibbons was so good... timeless. Welcome to the Xander Zone!" he wrote.

The "Fast and Furious" actor also made another casting announcement on Instagram. He revealed that Conor McGregor had signed on for the third "XXX" movie, though it's unclear whom he's playing. Diesel shared with his 14.7 million followers a photo of himself with McGregor. "Timing and precision... The casting of the new XXX gets more exciting everyday. #Iliveforthiss**t," he captioned the photo.
Additionally, Diesel shared a video which reveals some concept arts for the movie. The concept arts indicate that the actor will have a lot of death-defying stunts. In the upcoming movie, it seems like there will be a meteorite hitting the earth. We also get to see Diesel's Xander Cage leaping out of a plane and riding a motorcycle that is transformed into a waterski vehicle.
Production on "The Return of Xander Cage" is expected to commence later this month with the hope to release the movie in 2016.
