AceShowbiz - Is she okay? Mariah Carey was rushed to a hospital in New York City on Wednesday morning, December 2. According to TMZ, the "We Belong Together" songstress got an emergency treatment after falling severely ill.
Sources tell the site that Mariah is being treated with fluids and vitamins after suffering from considerable dehydration and other symptoms early in the morning. The 45-year-old singer reportedly began feeling bad on Tuesday evening following an appearance at Pier 1 in NYC.
There was extra concern about Mariah's condition because she is going to perform at Hot 97's "Hot for the Holidays" concert in New Jersey on Saturday night, December 5. But according to sources, the "All I Want for Christmas Is You" hitmaker is going to be fine and is expected to be released from the hospital later in the day.
Rumor has it, Mariah received $300,000 just to show up at Pier 1 for only an hour. A source told New York Daily News' Confidenti@l, "Let's call it 45 minutes," adding that the singer also had a few demands about her appearance. "She specifically wanted (it noted) that she was 'appearing' not 'performing.' They would have loved her to perform but just getting her is worth it."
Mariah reportedly requested that she would be called "The Queen of Christmas" and reminded guests she's "the biggest selling female recording artist of all time." The source added, "She has to do nothing. Show up, wave a little, talk to a few pre-approved outlets. She's in town so why not make all the money you can?"
