Scott Adkins Joins Marvel's 'Doctor Strange'

The martial artist has signed on for the upcoming Marvel movie which stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Rachel McAdams.

AceShowbiz - Martial artist Scott Adkins has joined the cast of Marvel's "Doctor Strange", according to TheWrap. Adkins' role has yet to be revealed, but the site says that he will have several major action scenes that include hand-to-hand combat.

If Adkins really signs the deal, he will join the likes of Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Mads Mikkelsen, Tilda Swinton, Michael Stuhlbarg and the newly-added Amy Landecker in the cast.

"Doctor Strange" centers on the titular neurosurgeon, who after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions. Scott Derrickson directs the comic book movie with Jon Spaihts writing the screenplay and Kevin Feige producing. The flick is due to open in U.S. theaters on November 4, 2016.

Adkins' notable movie credits include "The Bourne Ultimatum", "The Expendables 2" and "Zero Dark Thirty". He will next be seen in Sacha Baron Cohen's spy comedy "The Brothers Grimsby" and "Criminal", which stars Kevin Costner and Ryan Reynolds.
