Movie

Foster, who stars as the cycling champion, recently revealed that he took the same performance-enhancing drugs used by the cyclist to approach the role.

AceShowbiz - A new trailer for Lance Armstrong" biopic "The Program" has landed online. The trailer gives some never-before-seen footage and focuses more on the scene where Armstrong is investigated on his alleged drug use.

Starring Ben Foster as Armstrong, "The Program" follows the rise and fall of the cyclist's career. The trailer opens with Armstrong recovering from testicular cancer. His career starts to crumble away when he is tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs which he used to win seven Tour de France victories.

Foster recently opened up about his trick to perfect his performance as the athlete who consumed the drugs. He admitted that he took the same performance-enhancing drugs used by Armstrong himself. "I don't want to talk about the names of the drugs I took... Even discussing it feels tricky because it isn't something I'd recommend to fellow actors," Foster explained. "These are very serious chemicals and they affect your body in real ways. For my own investigation it was important for me privately to understand it. And they work."

Based on his experience of using the drugs, Foster concluded that it's very terrible and it had bad effects to human's body and mind. "There's a fallout. Doping affects your mind. It doesn't make you feel high. There are behaviours when you've got those chemicals running through your body that serve you on the bike but which, when you're not...," the actor said. "I've only just recovered physically. I'm only now getting my levels back."

The film also stars Lee Pace, Chris O'Dowd, Dustin Hoffman and Jesse Plemons. Stephen Frears directs the movie with the script written by John Hodge. The biopic is slated for a release in the U.K. on October 16.
