AceShowbiz - Katharine McPhee is finally back with new music. After spending the past few years focusing on acting, the "American Idol" alum dropped on Monday, May 25 a new song called "Lick My Lips" which is set to lead her upcoming third studio album.
The catchy and sexy old-school R&B/pop track was penned by Florence and the Machine's Isabella Summers a.k.a. Isa Machine, the same person behind the band's "Dog Days Are Over" and Iggy Azalea's "Trouble". It also features a Luther Vandross sample.
A music video for "Lick My Lips" is now underway. It was shot a few weeks ago with Diane Martel as director. McPhee teased it in a short clip posted on Instagram last month, but she didn't say when when it would officially arrive.
McPhee's new album is scheduled for release later this year via Columbia Records. "I'm excited about the body of work as far as the album goes because this record is something I'm very connected to - like a diary of what I've been through," the 31-year-old entertainer recently said of the follow-up to her 2010 set "Unbroken".
