'Inspector' will return with new and improved gadgets this March and Donald Duck will embark on a worldwide adventure in 2017.

AceShowbiz - Netflix and Disney are rebooting classic cartoon series for their children programming. The internet streaming service has secured the rights to a new take on 1980s "Inspector Gadget" for March debut while the Mouse House is revisiting "Ducktales" for 2017 launch.

The original "Gadget" first aired as an animated television series in 1983. It was adapted into a movie starring Matthew Broderick in 1999. The 26-episode remake will include updated gadgets and a new computer-generated look for the titular character.

"It's one of those shows where we're able to hit a few different audiences," Netflix's Erik Barmack said to USA Today. "We think that kids are going to love the show ... but it's also going to get some co-viewing because there is a generation of parents who grew up on the original."

Netflix is also revamping "Danger Mouse". The beloved secret agent mouse previously aired on Nickelodeon from 1982-1992. A 26 half-hour episodes are in the works for spring 2016 premiere.

Meanwhile, Disney is bringing back iconic characters like Scrooge McDuck, Huey, Dewey and Louie, and Donald Duck for the new and improved "Ducktales". The new series will follow the fans-favorite group embarking on high-flying adventures worldwide.
