The Anck Su Namun of 'The Mummy' franchise says her decision to publicly address her sexuality was inspired by her daughter.

AceShowbiz - Patricia Velasquez comes clean about her sexuality. In her memoir "Straight Walk: A Supermodel's Journey to Finding Her Truth" due on February 10, the actress who played Imhotep's love interest Anck Su Namun in the first two "Mummy" movies comes out as a lesbian.

There have been chatters about her sexuality for a long time, but she never publicly addressed them until now. The Venezuelan star who also appeared on "Arrested Development" and "The L Word" says it was "torturous" keeping it a secret for all those years.

Velasquez first discussed her sexuality with her family in 1999 before walking the runway for top designer Jean Paul Gaultier. "As I sat there waiting to walk, I was feeling this great sense of pride thinking about my journey to this moment, the only Latina in this massive show, excited to be a part of something so amazing," she wrote. "Gaultier was a genius but he was also doing exactly what he wanted to do. It made me realize that I could be myself, too. That was the moment, I decided right there. It all just clicked suddenly. I turned to Lisa [her then-girlfriend] before I went out onstage. 'I'm ready.' "

In the book, Velasquez also talked about some of her other exes. She said "Roseanne" alum Sandra Bernhard was her first girl kiss. "I was in deeply in love with Sandra in a way I'd never experienced before," she said, adding that she "cried for two years" after their breakup.

Velasquez shares a daughter with ex-partner Lauren, and her decision to finally come out to public was inspired by her kid. "It's very difficult to face your past, so I put off doing anything like this for a long time," she told Yahoo! Parenting. "But as my daughter started growing up and I was teaching her to be honest and proud, I knew it was time for me to set an example--and that meant facing my truth."
