'Jurassic World' Dinosaur D-Rex May Get New Name

The genetically-modified dinosaur in the movie which is widely rumored to be D-Rex or Diabolus Rex now reportedly has a new name which means 'Untamable or Fierce King.'

AceShowbiz - The new hybrid dinosaur in "Jurassic World" apparently has a new name. The new dinosaur has been widely rumored to be called D-Rex or Diabolus Rex, but on Thursday, January 8 Comic Book Movie noticed an updated product listing for the upcoming Jurassic World toyline on Instagram which revealed that the dino is called Indominus Rex. The name means "Untamable or Fierce King."

"Jurassic World" is set to take place 22 years after the events in 1993's "Jurassic Park". Now the theme park is open, welcoming thousands of tourists. However, the genetically-modified dinosaur escapes from its cage and starts hunting everything that moves. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard play scientists at the park.

In "Jurassic World"-related news, the movie will feature the new Mercedes GLE 63 AMG Coupe. A new still from the movie suggests that Howard's character will ride the car.

Jens Thiemer, Head of Marketing Communications for Mercedes-Benz Cars, shared his excitement for the collaboration in a statement. He said, "We are delighted to have been able to support this epic action-adventure with our vehicles. Our wide range of SUVs in particular fit perfectly with Jurassic World's various requirements, with the focus on our new trendsetter, the GLE Coupe."

Also featuring appearances from Ty Simpkins, Irrfan Khan and B.D. Wong among others, the sci-fi adventure film is directed by Colin Trevorrow. It set to hit theaters across the U.S. on June 12.
