"Bob's Burgers" gets more plates to serve. On Thursday, January 8, FOX announced that it renewed the critically-acclaimed animated series, which won its first Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program in August, for a 22-episode sixth season.

"We can't help but love the Belcher family. This gem of a series is a rare feel-good blend of sharp wit and genuine heart that fans and critics alike have continued to love throughout its five seasons on Fox," says FOX's chairmen Dana Walden and Gary Newman in a joint statement. "We are proud of Loren and Jim and the extremely talented voice cast who bring these unique characters to life with both humor and charm each week. We can't wait to see what they have in store for season six."

"Bob's Burgers" debuted to 9.38 million viewers in 2011, but the ratings went on a slide and the first season ended up averaging a modest 5.07 million. Though the show is not a ratings hit like "The Simpsons" and "Family Guy", it has developed loyal fans which keep tuning into the show despite frequent time slot moves.
