AceShowbiz - Many celebrities have left emotional messages on Twitter as they paid tribute to people who lost their lives following the 9/11 tragedy 13 years ago. President Obama, the First Lady Michelle Obama and Vice President Joe Biden led a moment of silence at the White House, while numerous stars such as Lady GaGa, Taylor Swift and Chris Brown remembered the victims and heroes on social media using the hashtag #neverforget.
"Today we remember and honor all the lives + families ruined by the tragedy of 9/11. Practice love in their memory today #WeWillNeverForget," the Mother Monster wrote. "Visiting the @Sept11Memorial this year was something I'll never forget, in memory of a day we will always remember with tears in our eyes," Swift added, while the "Loyal" singer sent out a tweet which read, "This @911day, please share a message of support for the 9/11 families at https://911day.org #911day."
Sarah Hyland took part in the touching tribute, writing, "13 yrs ago my life as a downtown New Yorker was changed forever. My thoughts are with the families, friends & victims of 9/11. #neverforget." Rachel Zoe also wrote, "I will never forget this day. The world changed forever but the Freedom tower will always remind us how strong we are #nyc #911 #neverforget."
"Watching our coverage 13 years ago on @msnbc.It's chilling and devastating all these yrs later. My thoughts r w the families. #neverforget," Katie Couric tweeted. Other stars who offered their thoughts on Twitter included Bella Thorne, Olivia Munn, Gabrielle Union, Andy Cohen, John Stamos, Carson Daly, Snooki, Julie Chen, Missy Elliott, LeBron James and Alyssa Milano.
In related news, a 15-year-old save-and-rescue dog named Bretagne, one of the last remaining rescue dogs who took part in the search of victims following the terrorist attack, revisited the Ground Zero with her owner Denise Corliss. "Seeing this kind of took my breath away a bit, similar to how the pile was the first time I saw it. It's so calm and peaceful now, unlike the chaos of before," Corliss recalled on "Today" show.
