Some fresh faces joining the show in the second season are Sakina Jaffrey as Sheriff Reyes, Timothy Busfield as Benjamin Franklin, and Matt Barr as Nick Hawley.
Gearing up for its second season, "Sleepy Hollow" teases fans with a new promo that features some new characters. Introduced in the video that includes commentaries from the cast and executive producers are Sakina Jaffrey's Sheriff Reyes, Timothy Busfield's Benjamin Franklin, and Matt Barr's Nick Hawley.
Sheriff Reyes replaces Frank Irving who is now in jail. Star Nicole Beharie describes her as a "hard-nosed, takes-no-prisoners, get-in-line kind of woman." Benjamin Franklin will appear in flashbacks as the show is expanding "this history between Ichabod and George Washington that talked about this secret war that was part of the American Revolution" which was first addressed in season 1.
Nick Hawley is an arms dealer who has knowledge of mythological weaponry. Exec producer Len Wiseman says Ichabod and Abbie "have to work with this character, but they don't trust him." He will grow fond of Abbie although exec producer Mark Goffman previously said, "Neither of them is particularly looking for a relationship."
"Sleepy Hollow" returns with the new season Monday, September 22 at 9 P.M. on FOX. The show has also cast Heather Lind as Crane's former love interest, and Aunjanue Ellis as Abbie's late mother Lori Mills.
