The Duke of Sussex's scheduled visit next month follows the royal's brief trip to the U.K. when his father King Charles III's cancer diagnosis became public earlier this year.

AceShowbiz - Prince Harry has something to celebrate about. It was confirmed on Sunday, April 28 that the Duke of Sussex will have to fly to the United Kingdom on May 8 for a special tenth anniversary commemoration of his Invictus Games.

The husband of Meghan Markle is scheduled to attend the thanksgiving service for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games Foundation in London on May 8. The prince is expected to give a reading during the service, while "Homeland" actor Damian Lewis will recite a poem. On the other hand, the writer of the poem, William Henley, is commemorated with a memorial bust in the Crypt of the cathedral.

Harry's scheduled visit next month follows the royal's brief trip to the U.K. earlier this year. At the time, Harry went across the pond as soon as his father King Charles III's cancer diagnosis became public.

Harry spoke with his father about the cancer diagnosis before leaving for the U.S., Buckingham Palace said. It's also said that the king personally informed both of his sons, Harry and William, and his siblings, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward, about his health.

Meanwhile, the upcoming schedule also marks Harry's first major event he will have attended in Britain for some time. The service is expected to be attended by representatives from across the Invictus Games participating nations, including members of the wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veteran community.

Harry, who has formally confirmed he is now a U.S. resident, launched the paralympic-style games for former and serving armed forces members in London in 2014. Ever since it's kicked off 10 years ago, the games have taken place around the world, including in Orlando, Florida, Sydney and Dusseldorf. Next year, the first winter games will be held in Whistler, Canada.
