The 'Leave (Get Out)' singer will star alongside 'American Idol' alum Diana DeGarmo and 'The Office' actress Kate Flannery.
JoJo is set to be featured in the reading of "Jawbreaker: The Musical", which is based on the 1999 movie starring Rose McGowan, Rebecca Gayheart, Julie Benz and Judy Greer as the "Flawless Four" in their high school. The 22-year-old singer/actress is joined by Kate Flannery, Elizabeth Gillies and Diana DeGarmo.
The musical is a "Faustian tale of 'Satan-in-heels' Courtney Shayne and her mean girl minions who play a fatal birthday prank on their best friend." Broadway star Gillies will take the lead with JoJo portraying Gayheart's Julie, "The Office" star Flannery as Principal Sherwood and "American Idol" alum DeGarmo playing Fern Mayo, who catches the chicks tucking their dead friend back into bed.
It is directed by Gabriel Barre, with music and lyrics by Jeff Thomson and Jordan Mann, and a book by Darren Stein, who scripted and directed the original flick. The 29-hour reading is on September 26-27 at 3 PM in Manhattan.
JoJo, best known for her break-up hits including "Leave (Get Out)" and "Too Little Too Late", recently starred in the indie comedy "G.B.F.". Her acting credits also include "Aquamarine" and "R.V.".
