Lady GaGa opened the 2013 iTunes Festival, which was held at The Roundhouse in London. The 27-year-old singer performed eight new tracks off "ARTPOP", her forthcoming album that will drop on November 11.
GaGa opened her set with "Aura", a song which had already leaked in full. She arrived at the stage in all-black outfit while holding a knife with the word "Hollywood" written on it. She then took off her top to perform "MANiCURE".
The Mother Monster continued her set with her upcoming album's title track, "ARTPOP". For her next new song called "Jewels and Drugs", GaGa brought out rappers Too Short and Twista onstage. The hip-hop-tinged song originally features T.I., but the 31-year-old rapper couldn't join his three collaborators since he was unable to enter the U.K.
GaGa then gave T.I. a shout out, saying, "From across the pond, T.I. They wouldn't let him into the country, poor thing. Put your hands up, Hustle Gang."
After finishing the song, GaGa debuted a raunchy song, "Sex Dreams", before welcoming pig-masked dancers when she sang "Swine". Before performing the latter track, GaGa got rid of her wig and exposed her real hair.
"In order to write 'ARTPOP', I needed to take off all the wigs and make up... I used them to become different people. I just created someone else. In order to grow, I knew I had to show you what's underneath all of the theatre, so here I am," she told the crowd.
She performed an emotional ballad, "I Wanna Be With You", before wrapping up her set with her latest hit "Applause".
iTunes Festival will run during the entire September. It will also feature performers like Elton John, Justin Timberlake, Queens of the Stone Age and Katy Perry.
