October 12, 2009 09:10:22T.I. didn't attend this year's BET Hip-Hop Awards on October 10 because he is currently serving behind the bars. However, this rapper managed to take home two kudos at the annual event. He won best Hip-Hop Collaboration for his duet with Rihanna in single "Live Your Life" and was honored with Album of the Year for his latest studio installment "Paper Trail".
Since T.I. was absent, his fiancee Tameka Cottle came onto the stage to accept the two trophies on his behalf. She also read a letter written by the rapper. "Although I'm not there with you all, I'm there in spirit," Tameka read. "My road to redemption is almost over. ... Thanks for the support."

T.I. Sentenced to a Year Behind Bars
March 28, 2009 09:03:56T.I. has joined a number of celebrities who gets imprisonment sentence. On Friday, March 27, the Grammy-winning rapper was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Charles Pannell to a year and a day in prison for felony weapons charges stemming from his October 2007 arrest. He is expected to voluntarily report to prison within the next six to eight weeks, but not before May 19 due to his agreed-upon commitments.
Before his sentencing was officially announced, the rapper who was wearing a charcoal-gray suit, black dress shirt and matching tie, delivered a 10-minute speech. "Today I would like to say thank you to some, and apologize to all," he said. He also shared about several of his personal contradictions, including the death of his best friend, Philant Johnson and how it affected him. "This has been the most insightful moment in my life," he concluded. "I've taken the great lesson from it and I will use it in my life. With that, I bid you adieu."

For what is considered the most conceptual album of rapper T.I., it really does receive a lot of back ups from reputable artists. The fifth studio album which is dubbed "T.I. vs. T.I.P." will be released in July and feature two of the Grammy award winning singer's musical personas.
Via phone from Atlanta, T.I. spilled out some hints on the new album. As the backbone for this album, he has invited the controversial rapper, Eminem to jot in, "We got a real hot concept that we spoke about over the phone. It's gonna be on some real creative sh**." He has also slated Justin Timberlake to contribute a song in the LP. He said, "We're just waiting on the proper song to get him on my album as well."

The first single released is "I'm a Flirt (Remix)" featuring T.I. and T-Pain. Many people are wondering why Bow Wow who has the same track in his album "The Price of Fame" (2006) is not featured in the video. It turns out that Bow Wow's version is a bonus track and its promotion to radios is prohibited. R. This could be the greatest leap that rappers have made in film industry so far. T.I. and Common have satisfyingly landed deal to star together with Oscar-winning thespians Russell Crowe and Denzel Washington in "American Gangster", the latest big screen project coming from Oscar-nominated director Ridley Scott. T.I. then will play Washington's nephew while Common is going to portray the actor's brother.

Get the arrest warrant issued just days after he spoke at the funeral of a close friend who was killed in a gun battle in Cincinnati, as a result of which T.I. then was jailed briefly on Wednesday before then scheduled to leave Sunday for a 10-day tour in Japan.

In a recap of the Top 10 albums on the US pop album charts for the week ended Sunday, there's something interesting that people could obviously see. It's the new chart-topper which debuts on its very top position.
The top spot on the Billboard 200 surprisingly is seized by Atlanta rapper T.I., whose album "King" sold almost 522,000 copies, such amount enough to push last week chart topper Prince's "3121" aside to No. 8 with only 75,000 copies. Checking in at No. 2 in the meantime is Tim McGraw's "Reflected: Greatest Hits Vol. 2," which sold 242,000 copies.

T.I. to Make Feature Film Debut
June 30, 2005 10:06:56Rapping seems to be not the only thing T.I. can do. To prove it, the rising rapper is soon going to make his feature film debut in the Warner Bros. untitled musical comedy project, which is set in an Atlanta hip-hip roller-skating rink.
The formerly known as "Jellybeans" project, is based on material by music producer Dallas Austin and T-Boz. There T.I. will play Rashad, the head of a roller-skating team, whereas newcomer Lauren London will play New-New, an employee at the rink who is in love with him. Also been cast for the film is Evan Ross Naess, son of Motown legend Diana Ross.
