Showtime Debuts Trailer for Jay-Z's 'Made in America' Documentary

The cable network has just nabbed the Ron Howard-directed film, which covers a music festival the 'Holy Grail' rapper put together on Labor Day weekend last year.

After his wife Beyonce Knowles graced HBO with "Beyonce: Life Is But a Dream", Jay-Z is coming to another cable network with his own documentary. His film "Made in America" has just landed at Showtime, which will air it for the first time on October 11 at 9 P.M.

Directed by Ron Howard, the documentary will be screened at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 7. It revolves around a music festival called "Made in America", which the R&B music mogul founded.

The film features performances from acts like Pearl Jam, Passion Pit, Drake and Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All which participated in the event on Labor Day weekend last year. It also gives a look at the rise of the hip-hop star. Howard added that the film would be "a reflection of the fabric of what it means to be 'Made in America', what the festival represents, why Jay is doing it and how he relates to each artist."

"As soon as we saw this film we knew it was a perfect fit for Showtime," says the cable channel's President of Entertainment David Nevins. "Ron Howard and Jay-Z have crafted an inspirational portrayal of American resilience, drive and creativity, interwoven with an incredible showcase of musical talent."
