Young and DeGarmo exchanged wedding vows that they wrote themselves and danced to a song they co-penned together.

AceShowbiz - Ace Young and Diana DeGarmo are officially husband and wife. The two "American Idol" alums (Ace from season 5 and Diana from season 3) exchanged wedding vows, which they wrote themselves, at the Luxe Sunset Boulevard Hotel in Bel Air, California.

The Saturday, June 1 nuptials started with six flower girls, all nieces of Young and DeGarmo, walking down the aisle with baskets of flower petals. A different word was on each basket, spelling out a message to the groom at the altar, "Hey Ace. Here Comes Your Bride."

As the bride made her way to the altar, a harpist played the wedding march. Music writer Fred Bronson officiated the wedding. After exchanging vows, the couple walked back up the aisle to Led Zeppelin's "All of My Love" and later played "I Do", a song they co-wrote together, for their first dance at the reception.

"We wrote 'I Do,' and the first listen all the way through, we're both looking at the monitor screen, sobbing," Young recalled to Us Weekly. "Right when we're done, we look at each other and Diana goes, 'I think this one is' and I said, 'I know.' It was done."

The bride looked beautiful in a white strapless Sareh Nouri dress accessorized by a beaded belt and custom veil. She completed her look with blue cowboy boots. The groom donned a customized tux that featured the lyrics of their song as a personal touch.

It was an emotional moment for DeGarmo because her brother returned from Afghanistan to walk her down the aisle. "It took every ounce of strength I had not to burst into tears. When we turned the corner and I saw Ace at the altar it was beautiful," she told E! News. Young shared the same emotional feeling as his new wife, "I was crying before I even saw Diana walk."

After the newlyweds shared loving kiss, the guests threw multicolored confetti in the air. The ceremony was witnessed by around 250 attendees that included "Idol" alums Elliott Yamin, Michael Johns and Kevin Covais. Some of DeGarmo's "The Young and the Restless" co-stars like Christian LeBlanc and Tracey Bregman were there as well.

Young, 35, and deGarmo, 25, started dating after starring in Broadway's musical "Hair" in 2010. He proposed to her during the eleventh season of "American Idol" live season finale in May 2012.

"Today was the best day of my life," he gushed to PEOPLE after the wedding. "Diana and I are in it forever. She's my best friend." His wife echoed his sentiment, "This was the best way to start the chapter of my life as Mrs. Young. I'm over the moon with joy and happiness about our wonderful wedding. I can't wait to spend my life with my husband!"
