Connick lands a four-episode arc as an Executive Assistant District Attorney and love interest for Hargitay's Olivia Benson on the NBC drama series.
"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" will heat up Olivia Benson's love life by casting Harry Connick Jr. The actor/singer is tapped to join the cast for a four-episode arc as Executive Assistant District Attorney David Hadena, a prosecutor assigned to a case with Mariska Hargitay's detective character. Their work relationship will then blossom into something more.
Announcing the casting news at Television Critics Association's winter press tour in Pasadena on Friday, January 6, NBC chairman Robert Greenblatt introduced a sneak peek which teases a scene from an upcoming episode. In the footage, Benson and Hadena are featured locking lips after she invited him for a night cap.
Also in the video, Hargitay said on the set of the crime drama series that she will be back if the show is renewed for another season. "I can't leave," she stated. "I'm having too much fun!"
"Law & Order: SVU" will return with new episodes from season 13 on Wednesday, January 18 at 10/9c on NBC.
