June 30, 2009 09:06:34Good news come in two for "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" fans. Apart from the already confirmed return of leads Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni, a new cast is added in the form of Christine Lahti aka the Dr. Kathryn Austin of "Chicago Hope".
Chris and Mariska will reprise the roles as detectives Elliot and Olivia respectively, for two more years. This could mean two things: the show has been renewed by NBC for a 12th season or should the series get another season, then the two actors are definitely in the cards.
Mariska Hargitay Diagnosed With Partially Collapsed Lung

Matt Damon and some fellow celebrities are cashing in on their fame, donating their used baby items to Johnson's Celebrity Hand-Me-Down Auction. The cause, which will be kicked off on April 29 and ended on May 9, will benefit such charities as March of Dimes, Save the Children, Zero to Three and Baby Buggy.
The celebrity baby items which are being auctioned off at Johnson's Celebrity Hand-Me-Down Auction, at ebay.com/celebritymoms, among others include diaper bag, beachwood high chair, car seat, Adidas track suit outfit, and baby products. The chat show queen, who frequently listed on Forbes' Rich list, earns an estimated US$260 million a year from the famous "The Oprah Winfrey Show" for which she serves as host and supervising producer. With such amount of money, based on a list by TV Guide magazine, no doubt that she tops the list of the Highest-Paid Television Stars in the United States.

The 59th annual Emmy Awards won't be held until September 16th later this year, but the nominees are in already. "The Sopranos", "Ugly Betty", and "Grey's Anatomy" are among the series dominating the award nominees list announced Thursday July 19th.
ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" is nominated for the Drama Series award, running for the category with the likes of "Boston Legal", "Heroes", "House", and "The Sopranos". The hit dramedy series "Ugly Betty" is vying for the category of Comedy Series with "Entourage", "The Office", "30 Rock", and "Two and a Half Men" as the competitors.

The Entertainment Industries Council, Inc. (EIC) has on Tuesday April 24th annually presented the PRISM Awards, which is in its 11th year. Among the many awards given, here we present the winners of the television categories.
ABC's hit series "Desperate Housewives" wins the Comedy Series, Multi-Episode Storyline award, while Fox's "Family Guy: Deep Throats" nabs the award for Comedy Series Episode category. Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni won't leave the series. They, instead, will stay on NBC's hit crime drama "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" for two more seasons.
After lengthy negotiations both stars have inked rich new deals to continue joining the series' next season. The two-year deals reportedly valued at more than $330,000 per episode for both Hargitay and Meloni.

Mariska Hargitay and her husband of two years, actor Peter Hermann, welcomed the arrival of their first child ever, a son, Wednesday June 28th, 2006 in Los Angeles.
The baby boy was born at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and weighed in at 10 pounds, 9 ounces, via C-section. Hargitay's father, actor Mickey Hargitay, also was at the hospital to welcome his grandchild.
