In defense of her family's fame, Kim Kardashian tells the '10 Most Fascinating People of 2011' host that getting people to fall in love with them for being themselves is a challenge.
The Kardashians made it to Barbara Walters' list of her "10 Most Fascinating People of 2011" special, but it wasn't without criticism from the host's part. During an interview aired Wednesday, December 14 night, the 82-year-old journalist bluntly told Kim Kardashian and her family that they have no talent.
When asking the famous family how they are able to maintain fame and riches, the co-host of "The View" pointed out, "You don't really act; you don't sing; you don't dance. You don't have any - forgive me - any talent!" Quick to respond was Kim's younger sister, Khloe Kardashian who stated, "But we're still entertaining people."
Kim then took over to the defense of her family's fame. "I think it's more of a challenge for you to go on a reality show and get people to fall in love with you for being you," said the estranged wife of Kris Humphries. "So, there's definitely a lot more pressure, I think, to be famous for being ourselves."
Barbara also dug into Kim's 2007 sex tape with singer Ray J which got the reality star to say, "I have made mistakes in my life, for sure." Her mother Kris Jenner chimed in by sharing that it was "devastating for the whole family and you cry yourself to sleep for a few nights, then you hire a really good attorney and try to make something, you know, better happen."
When Barbara visited "Late Show With David Letterman" recently, she joked, "You cannot trust the Kardashians." She reasoned, "They were the first ones we interviewed and we did them in September. We said, 'Anything going to happen?' 'No, no, no, you can do it now because nothing's going to happen.' Then Kim gets married. Then Kourtney [Kardashian] gets pregnant. Then Khloe's moving to Dallas."
