It seems that director Carlo Carlie has found his Romeo for upcoming project, "Romeo and Juliet". After finding Juliet in Hailee Steinfeld earlier in April, the director reportedly taps Douglas Booth to play the main male character.
Additionally, Variety reports that the 19-year-old thesp has beaten more than 300 young actors who were also vying for the role. Meanwhile, it was previously rumored that "Gossip Girl" hunk Ed Westwick was in the final talks to take the role of hot-tempered Tybalt.
Inspired by Shakespeare's classic, this movie tells a romantic, yet tragic tale of the titular characters. Romeo is the son of the Montague family and is an able swordsman. Juliet is almost 14 years old and is the daughter of the Capulet household. The two young teens fall in love but their respective families are violently feuding and try to keep them apart, leading to their deaths.
English actor Douglas Booth has previously portrayed Eustace on "The Pillars of the Earth". The teen actor also modeled in several campaigns for Burberry, including in the ads alongside Emma Watson. He will next be seen starring opposite Miley Cyrus in "LOL: Laughing Out Loud".
