Just after it finds a main female cast, "Gravity" is in threat of losing its actor Robert Downey Jr.. Deadline Hollywood learns that scheduling problems have made him doubtful that he could do the Alfonso Cuaron-directed movie.

The actor was supposed to film "Gravity" before he shoots "Sherlock Holmes 2". But a long casting process for the lead actress has delayed the production and now Downey has already filmed "Sherlock Holmes" sequel.

These delays "have taken a toll for Downey, who needs to focus soon on 'The Avengers', and then 'Iron Man 3'," Deadline further reports. He is additionally attached to star in "Oz: The Great and Powerful" as well as "Yucatan".

Warner Bros is denying rumor about Downey's exit, claiming they expect to work out the scheduling problems. Meanwhile, Sandra Bullock who is cast in the female lead role is also said trying to lobby him to stay.

"Gravity" will focus on a female astronaut on a remote space station who attempts to return home to her child as the other team members have got wiped out by a debris field from an exploding satellite. Downey is attached to portray a second main character of the team leader.
