Jon Favreau's Superhero Line-Up for 'The Avengers'
June 24, 2008 12:06:21Most comic book fans would probably know that in general "The Avengers" is a team consisting of several superheroes from Marvel's comic books. But, with a lot of heroic characters in the Marvel Comics universe and the growing number of superheroes joining the team, many have questioned which superheroes will be teamed up for the film version of the comic book series. Giving a little bit of light to the question, "Iron Man" director Jon Favreau has unveiled Marvel's picks for the line-up.
In an interview with USA Today, the filmmaker that is on the run for the director's seat of "Avengers" revealed that Marvel Entertainment already have the intention "to team up the heroes for The Avengers, which is made up of all of the Marvel heroes they have the rights to" making the team's lineup to have changed over and over again. However, he further added that the production company are more inclined to form the "Avengers" team by teaming up Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Ant-Man and Iron Man together stating, "but the ones Marvel is talking about now are Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Ant-Man and Iron Man. I would love to see that."

'The Avengers' May See 'Incredible Hulk' as Baddie

Though the green beast is often blinded by his rage, the fictional Marvel's character in most of his adventures comes out to be the hero. However, it looks like his heroin acts would end in the upcoming "The Avengers" movie. The further discussion about this matter may contain spoiler to recently released "The Incredible Hulk".
An updated news concerning "Avengers" suggested that Hulk that is portrayed by Edward Norton in "Incredible Hulk" maybe the possible villain to the team of Earth's mightiest heroes. Hinting the possibility, "Hulk" director Louis Leterrier expressed his hope of seeing Hulk as the bad guy saying, "I would love to see [the Hulk become the villain that fights the Avengers] because I think the best villains are always the ones whose agenda you understand. They're not synthetic to us in a way; they're not these one dimensional bad guys."

New 'Iron Man' on the Run for 'The Avengers'
April 17, 2008 02:04:52Robert Downey Jr.'s fans can put up their hope of seeing more of the "Zodiac" star as he is rumored to be portraying popular superhero character "Iron Man" in "The Avengers". In an interview with MovieHole, the director of "Iron Man", Jon Favreau, hinted that the 43-year-old actor maybe reprising his role as Tony Stark/Iron Man in the various superheroes movie.
According to the site, the director is pretty sure that Downey Jr. may return as the hero in the film based on the Marvel's comic book of the same title. "Downey Jr may be back as Iron Man - possibly even in a film that unites many of the Marvel superheroes. "The Avengers," based on the comic book title of the same name, sees several classic heroes coming together. It's been in early development for a few months now. Favreau believes it'll definitely happen," read the article.

"Avengers" To Be Penned by Zak Penn

The Marvel Studios Overview Presentation has recently hired Zak Penn to pen the script for "The Avengers", a live-action feature of the superhero team originally created by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, and Dick Ayers as an answer to DC Comics' Justice League of America.
While cast and plot line have not yet been confirmed, the project will surely exhibit the great power of the heroes as they battle against evil. Marvel itself has described The Avengers to be "Earth's mightiest heroes, formed to fight the foes no single hero could withstand" also "the most prestigious and powerful super-hero team in the world."
