The Mixing of Thor and Iron Man in 'The Avengers' Discussed

Director Jon Favreau has pointed out earlier that it would be hard to mix Thor and Iron Man for "", but comic book writer Brian Michael Bendis recently expressed his belief that it could be done. To MTV, the man who launched "New Avengers" series shared the advice he's giving the Marvel movie team for the matter.

"My advice is, has been, and will be, that much like the comics, you look at movies like the 'Oceans' movies that have all these different flavors, you put the flavors together and you cook 'em," the 42-year-old artist responded when asked about the mixing of Thor's supernatural world and Iron Man's reality-based universe. "It absolutely can be done."

Despite rumor to the contrary, Jon Favreau won't be serving as the director of Marvel's "". Pouring cold water to the swirling speculation was the helmer of "" and "" himself when speaking to MTV at the "" junket in Bora Bora.

Presented with a question whether he will be bummed if another helmer is chosen for the project, he said that he won't, adding "They'll have to [find a different director], because I'm not going to be available." He then explained that he won't be completely out of the equation on the project though. "It's something I'm being the executive producer on, so I'll definitely have input and a say," he mentioned.

Director Matthew Vaughn already has one comic book adaptation in the works with "", but that apparently doesn't stop him from hoping to lay his hand on one particular Marvel movie. When asked about his dream project, the producer of "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" reveals that he wants "".

"[I'd] love to do 'The Avengers,'" Vaughn tells MTV News. The 38-year-old filmmaker, who was once attached to "" before his contract expired and stepped in, further fesses up that he is looking forward to be able to do a new "Superman" movie, saying "And Superman... I think it would be great to reinvent Superman."

Black Widow to Be a Big Part of 'The Avengers'

After Marvel Studios' President of Production Kevin Feige made the suggestion during 2009 San Diego Comic Con, the actress who plays the femme fatale in "" told Ireland Online that the Russian spy has a significant part to play in the movie.

"The character certainly comes back," the 24-year-old shared. She then went on to stress that though she has no clue which direction the filmmakers will take for the movie adaptation, her character does have a big part. "We see that she does in the comics and certainly she is a big part of The Avengers," she said. "I don't know if that is where it's going to go but she is definitely a big part of The Avengers."

Although Paramount Pictures has not decided on who will be the helmer of "", director Louis Leterrier has shared what he has in mind for the Marvel project. During an interview with Los Angeles Times' Geoff Boucher on the set of "", the helmer stated that he has plans to make the comics adaptation into a series of four movies which will be released over the course of one summer.

"I'll tell you my real dream: To work with Joe Johnston ['' director] and ['' director] and Jon Favreau ['' director] and make like a triptych," he detailed on his dream project. "We do four movies. We release them one a month for the summer. Or even every two weeks or three weeks. And the whole summer would be Avengers summer."

On day three of San Diego Comic Con 2009, July 25, Marvel didn't only present visitors with "" panel, but also an update to "" in term of which superhero characters will be making an appearance in the film. After the presentation of the "" sequel, Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios' President of Production revealed to Io9 the potential line-up of the super team.

"I think we know. I think it's going to be Iron Man and Thor, Captain America and Nick Fury," he gushed on the matter. "I think it's safe to assume that there will be some members of the Hulk universe in the film as well. In terms of the additional I think Black Widow, sure. The SHIELD organization for sure. The speculation has been brought up after a series of her photos clutching a copy of The Avenger comic book when leaving the L.A. offices of Marvel Comics was uncovered. The images posted by Flawed Hollywood was said to be taken on Friday, September 12.

Further on the story, L.A. Times inferred that Longoria may be eyeing the possibility to portray superheroine The Wasp. Wasp, who is initially a self-centered heiress and daughter of wealthy scientist Vernon Van Dyne named Janet, is one of the founding members of the Avengers. Upon her father's death, Janet requested Dr. Henry "Hank" Pym, a.k.a Ant-Man, to give her "Pym particles" which allows her to shrink, grow wings and fire blasts of energy.

Few days back, it has been reported that 's Nick Fury character in "", will be having its share to work together with Iron Man and Hulk in Marvel's forthcoming feature film project "". Most comic book fans would probably know that in general "" is a team consisting of several superheroes from Marvel's comic books. But, with a lot of heroic characters in the Marvel Comics universe and the growing number of superheroes joining the team, many have questioned which superheroes will be teamed up for the film version of the comic book series. In an interview with MovieHole, the director of "Iron Man", Jon Favreau, hinted that the 43-year-old actor maybe reprising his role as Tony Stark/Iron Man in the various superheroes movie.

According to the site, the director is pretty sure that Downey Jr. may return as the hero in the film based on the Marvel's comic book of the same title. "Avengers" To Be Penned by Zak Penn

Another superhero flick is on the making. The Marvel Studios Overview Presentation has recently hired Zak Penn to pen the script for "", a live-action feature of the superhero team originally created by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, and Dick Ayers as an answer to DC Comics' Justice League of America.

While cast and plot line have not yet been confirmed, the project will surely exhibit the great power of the heroes as they battle against evil. Marvel itself has described The Avengers to be "Earth's mightiest heroes, formed to fight the foes no single hero could withstand" also "the most prestigious and powerful super-hero team in the world."

i like the avengres this movie is cool john cena as captain america robert downey jr. as iron man don cheadle as war machine chris hemsworth as thor justin long as antman terrence howard as the black panther beyonce knowles as shehulk eric bana as the incredible hulk samuel l. jackson as nick fury scarlett johasson as black window liv tyler as betty ross i like them all i will see the avengres in theatres 2012 see ya.
