The soon-to-be-released single will have Rihanna ditching her 'Rated R' dark music and returning to her 'Umbrella' roots.
Rihanna is going to lead fans to the dance floor in her upcoming single. According to Def Pen Radio, the "Rated R" singer calls the dance track "Only Girl" and will release it sometime soon. A source said, "[It's] looks like no more dark music, back to Umbrella Rihanna."
Beside rising her tempo, Rihanna also takes influence from her duet track with Eminem, "Love the Way You Lie", which successfully ruled Billboard Hot 100 for multiple weeks. She will make music which is "commercial, but at the same time it's got an edge to it - it has substance," producer Alex da Kid previously said.
On top of that, the Barbadian singer sets the bar high, aiming at creating a phenomenal record like Michael Jackson's "Thriller". The Vice President of Def Jam Bu Thiam stated in another occasion, "I'm trying to push her to where every song will be a hit from 1 to 12. I'm talking about NO album fillers. Our bar for this album is Michael Jackson's Thriller."
