After only one season, "10 Things I Hate About You" will say goodbye to its fans. ABC Family has canceled the teen drama after its rating fails to go beyond the 1 million mark and it reached all time low on April 12 episode "Great Expectations".
The first to reveal the sad news was executive producer/writer Carter Covington who wrote on his Twitter, "Sad news ABCFamily canceled the show :-( ...Enjoy the last 5 eps - they're fantastic!" The Thursday, April 29 posting was followed up by a confirmation from the show's rep to Zap2It.
There are five episodes left in the series before the finale on May 31. Covington previously told EW that the finale will end with "AWESOME cliffhanger."
Created based on the feature film of the same title starring Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger, the TV series follows the Stratford sisters, Bianca and Kat, who have different personalities but have the same circle of friends at Padua High. Gil Junger, who directed the film version, directs most of the first season's episodes.

This programme was one of my all time favourites to watch, i used to push myself through the week just to see it on a wednesday night. Their interpretation of the 1999 film is entertaining, realistic and teens all over the world can relate to the cliches of high school and teen romances. I was very upset when it got cancelled and I don't think it should have been so just for having less than a million viewers
I just finished watching the series. I knew there were only 20 episodes but I was still SAD AS HELL when I reached the end. This was actually one of the best teen shows around.
I just finished watching episode one in less than 24 hours and now I find out there's no episode 2! That's so unfair to the people who watch it and the fact that you left it like that and don't intend to finish it! nuh. No offence to America and all but I usually don't watch your tv shows as most the time they get on my freaking nerves but this one was pretty freaking good I mean its better than most the shit they produce over here and the one show I finally, FINALLY get into you cancel! THANK YOU AMERICA! uhh!!!!!!!!
This is NOT FAIR! I think we should all take a stand for it. This serie really gave me confidence and instead of all the other crappy TV shows I actually think that this is pretty awesome and inspirational...but I guess there's no point in me saying all this now... (Gee I must sound obsessed) MAKE A SEASON 2!!..please?

I am from Germany. I discovered this show recently and couldn't stop watching. I fell in love with the characters immediately. It is too bad that they had to cancel it. The cliffhanger was like a punch in the face^^ But I'll get over it, there are other great shows like this ;)
We were so devestated after watching the last episode and finding out that there was no second season. We are so depressed we might actually die right now. we LOVE this programme so much so please make a season 2!!!!!!!!! especially after leaving it at such a cliffhanger!!!
I just finished watching this show and the ending killed me! I would LOVE it if they made a proper ending for this quality show. I think that the loyal fans deserve at least that much!
I know that my opinion is not important... But Kat truly is all I wish I was. Brave, smart and never gives up. When they cancelled the show they also broke my heart. So please, bring it back.

I absolutely love 10 Things I Hate about You and was devistated when the series got cancelled. I watched it religiously every week. The only thing that sucked was timing... I'm sure that's why the rating was soo low. There are a ton of awesome shows on Monday Nights and soo they should have moved the day to a different one. I'm sure the ratings would have definately increased with the schedule change because then more people who aren't addicted to other shows can watch this one. I REALLY WISH THEY WOULD MAKE ANOTHER SEASON AND JUST CONTINUE! Tons of people loved that show! It was amazing!

so i must say i don't get to watch much tv due to going to school full time and trying to get my own bussines going at 23 but this show was awesome. I was looking forward to watching it every night after work at the shop. Just finished the last episode and came to find out that there is no season 2. They really need to make another one. I would actually buy it instead of using netflix to watch it.

OH COME ON. Are you serious? I have joined a whole load of petitions to get 10 Things back on air but they still refuse! This show is amazing and the clifhanger isnt even good! Every time I get into a tv show they cancel it, grrr. They should've aired it on more chanels or advertised it better. I live in England and I only got to watch an episode on TV once the rest I had to watch online. Stupid ABC family.

they always cancel the good shows and keep the crappy ones and it seems impossible for a new sitcom to survive into a second season, I love sitcoms and I really hate reality shows but reality shows are cheaper to produce, it all comes down to money not quality of show. I'm so shocked.

ugh! abcfamily is probably the stupidest channel on tv! why whould they cancel this! it's there fault, they kept of the air for so long and then started promos for it 2-3 weeks in advance, so most people probably didn't know it was on.
