His character, who has just passed away, will team up with an undead gunslinger to patrol the dead beat in the movie adaptation of the comic book.
Another job has been nabbed by Ryan Reynolds. After cast as Green Lantern and is set to play the lead role in "X-Men" spin-off "Deadpool", he has signed up to star in "R.I.P.D.". Speaking to Collider, producer Neal H. Moritz says the actor will be seen playing a cop who has just died and then works on the Rest in Peace department.
The Rest in Peace department is the police department of the dead. The story, based on graphic novel of the same title, takes place on a normal day and is about trying to keep the dead quiet. Beside Reynolds' character, there is another lead, a gunslinger who has been dead for hundreds of years, but it has not been cast yet, so Moritz tells Collider.
Reynolds is expected to start shooting "R.I.P.D.", which is aimed to be PG-13 movie, in January 2011 after he finishes shooting "The Change-Up" in which he stars opposite Jason Bateman. Meanwhile, the Canadian is currently in production for superhero movie "Green Lantern".
