What Jackie Earle Haley Has to Say About Sinestro Rumor
October 19, 2009 12:10:40Rumored to be on the top of the list to portray villainous Sinestro in "Green Lantern", Jackie Earle Haley delivered a different story when attending Spike TV's 2009 Scream Awards. On Saturday, October 17, the Rorschach of "Watchmen" confessed to MTV, "I just heard about this, literally."
Commenting more on the rumor, the 48-year-old shared, "I know the guys that are doing it. It's exciting to me. It makes me want to go get the Green Lantern comics and start reading up." While he admitted to have just heard about the speculation, he didn't shoot down the possibility. He said, "I don't know much about it. I'm a comics fan, but I haven't gotten into that one yet. I guess I'd better do my homework."

October 17, 2009 02:10:42Following confirmation about its production that has been pulled out of Australia, "Green Lantern" is hit with a casting rumor. Ain't It Cool News (AICN) has come up with the story that the lead villain in this adaptation of the DC Comics' superhero may well be portrayed by Jackie Earle Haley.
According to Harry Knowles of AICN, someone "working on the film" claimed that the new Freddy Krueger of "A Nightmare on Elm Street" is on top of the actors list considered for the part of Sinestro. The scooper reportedly also spoiled that Superman "will be making a cameo," adding that "all depends upon how... other DC things go."

Confirmed: 'Green Lantern' Production Out of Australia

The Hollywood Reporter (THR) brought up the confirmation news to the attention, reporting that the studio finally made the announcement in a statement issued through agency Screen NSW on Friday, October 16.
"After working closely with our partners at the NSW Film and Television Office (Screen NSW) and examining every scenario, we have decided to move the production of 'Green Lantern'," so read the statement. "We are extremely grateful for the assistance we have received from the NSW Government, Fox Studios and the NSW filmmaking community."

Ryan Reynolds: 'Green Lantern' Is Months Away From Shooting

When paying a visit to "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" recently, the leading man of "The Proposal" told host Jimmy Fallon about the possibility. "I'm 4-5 months away from beginning shooting," so he claimed.
The 32-year-old further mentioned that he has to remain tight-lipped about the project. "It's crazy, it's the only job I've ever had that I'm not allowed to really talk about," he explained why. "I think there's like a representative from Warner Brothers who I'm sure is following me around ready to blow-dart me if I say a single word. 'Green Lantern' Casting Call Unravels More Characters

Through official casting call posted by Spoiler TV, it can be seen that DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Pictures are looking forward to fill in four notable characters and some of them are potential future villains.
[SPOILER ALERT!] The four characters are Dr. Hector Hammond, Sinestro, Abin Sur and female lead Carol Ferris. In the DC universe, Hammond is primary enemy of Green Lantern and Sinestro is the the arch-nemesis of the entire Green Lantern Corps. Abin Sur, on the other hand, is Green Lantern Corps' member who recruits Hal, while Carol is Hal's love interest who is destined to be Star Saphire.

'Green Lantern' May Move Production to New Orleans
August 27, 2009 11:08:14"Green Lantern" could find a new shooting location in United States. After being reported that Warner Brothers' plan to take principal photography in Australia could be in jeopardy due to the rising Australian dollar, Slash Film suggested the superhero film may move their production to New Orleans.
Slash claimed that a source has informed the site that the filmmakers behind this comic book adaptation project "might be doing some scouting in Louisiana". According to Slash, the source also mentioned that the film will start its production in the States, possibly in or around New Orleans, in 2010. Warner Bros. Pictures has yet commented on this report though.

'Green Lantern' Could Be in Trouble
August 26, 2009 09:08:38"Green Lantern" seems to have moved on well enough with the casting of Ryan Reynolds, but a report suggesting that the superhero movie may be facing a problem has recently come in. Production Weekly (PW)* broke the news that budget concerns may force the filming of the live-action adaptation, which is scheduled to be done in Australia, to be done in another country.
PW brought up the report to public attention via Twitter by posting, "Green Lantern's proposed Australian shoot is understood to be under threat after the rising Australian dollar has blown out production costs." It is still unclear what effect this financial issue may bring to this movie, but "Justice League Mortal" was earlier put on the back burner after Australia refused to give the film a tax break.

This newest casting report came less than a day after he is listed alongside two other potential candidates for the lead role, Justin Timberlake and Bradley Cooper.
According to Variety, the deal is yet to be finalized since the actor's representatives are working out the deal for the project. Pictures have decided to shift the release date of the superhero movie to June 17, 2011, sixth months later than its original schedule which was set on December 17, 2010.
There are yet words on the reason behind the shuffle, though some indicated that the lack of lead for the movie may have something to do with it. The latest report coming from the DC Comics adaptation movie let out that the plan on bringing the superhero to the big screen is being moved forward with the project now being in development.
The breaking down of "Green Lantern" status came out from Production Weekly's issue #621. There, it is revealed that the action adventure flick has been in active development. In addition, Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Michael J. Green have been listed as the writers to pen the script. Still, PW does not mention Greg Berlanti as the helmer opposed to the previous report that he has been attached to direct the film.

Previously directed 2000's "The Broken Hearts Club: A Romantic Comedy", the man is recognized more as a TV writer and executive producer for some series like "Everwood", "Eli Stone", and "Brothers & Sisters."

I don't think Ryan is the right guy I mean he already played wade wilson(Deadpool)in Wolverine sometimes I would imagin myself in his place. So why would they have him as Green Lantern, the best superhero he should be playing is wally west also known as The Flash that would've been the right role for him trust me.
