Kelly Clarkson Slams RCA Records During Live Concert

Kelly Clarkson

The first season's winner of 'American Idol' pours her outrage on-stage, opening up that 'a bunch of suits' in her label do not allow her to record soul music.

Kelly Clarkson apparently is not happy with the situation in RCA Records. In a brief chat with her fans during a concert in Manchester, the singer talked about how she desires to make soul music but the label doesn't allow her.

"I love soulful music but I don't always get to record it because I work with a bunch of suits," the winner of "American Idol" season 1 told the crowd. "Two records left," she then made sing-a-song voice when referring to her contract with the label.

Kelly Clarkson is in the middle of her U.K. tour for her latest studio installment "All I Ever Wanted". She recently rocked Liverpool and after leaving the stage, she tweeted, "Fun show last night in Liverpool and then got violently ill around 4AM. I feel better but I might never eat again, might not be able to. "

Kelly will next be seen performing in Glasgow, Birmingham, Bournemouth, Cardiff and London. More detailed info about her on-going tour can be found on her MySpace.

Awesome. Absolutely awesome! Really, it's not her fault the suits are prudes that only want to churn out mega hits and make big bucks instead of letting their artists develop creatively. I'm looking forward to when she becomes a free agent and can sign with someone that will let her explore the genres. She's doing that a bit on this tour, and I can't wait until she's able to do that in a studio as well.

She rocks my socks off. That's the reason why we love her! She is not afraid to state her opinion. RCA sucks anyways for not letting her release her art.

wow she is not very smart

She should get away from Clive Davis. He's too much into packaging an artist rather than letting them develop and become true genuine artists. It's tough for artists nowadays to achieve great artistic freedom while still staying relevant. Which is why Clive David packages artists who'll churn out radio friendly hits. She should jump to another label...

She's brilliant. I don't think she wanted to release a "Since you been gone sequel" album. She paying homage to her label by compromising on what she records now. Pretty sure when she becomes a free agent, apparently after the next 2 albums, the gloves are going to come off and the label execs will be fiercely attempting to get her signed. I can't wait, if we have more performances like her idol gives back rendition of up to the mountain in the works kelly will become the icon she deserves to be.
