'Chuck': Poster, Sneak Peek and Premiere Date of Season 3
TV

In the new season, Chuck, now having the ability to fight, is still as clumsy and awkward as he used to when assigned to a mission as a musician.

AceShowbiz - Good news comes in three for "Chuck" fans. Beside the announcement that the show will return earlier than the initial schedule, NBC has also unleashed a sneak peek and a poster to the third season. These triple treats add to the excitement that the show has been expanded from 13 to 19 episodes.

"Chuck" which was almost canceled after the second season will return on Sunday, January 10 instead of March like the Peacock has planned previously. Even better, fans will be given two back-to-back episodes on the premiere. After that "Chuck" will be moved to its regular slot on Mondays at 8/7c starting right on January 11. In other words, it would be a two-night and three-hour premiere in January. However, "Chuck" will be pre-empted for the Olympics on February 15 and 22.

Zachary Levi appeared in the third season preview, thanking loyal fans of their support that keep him in the job. He also gave a short recap of what happened in the second season that would later play a major storyline in the new one. As many would have remembered, Chuck accidentally downloaded a new physical ability that enables him to fight. "I know Kung Fu," he said at the season 2 finale.

On the downside, NBC has excluded Julia Ling from its press release that lists the regulars in season 3. All the secondary characters like Big Mike and Captain Awesome are back but not Ling's Anna Wu.

Beside delivering good news for "Chuck", NBC also announced that "Heroes" will be moved back to its Mondays 9/8c slot per January 11. But there will be a two-hour special episode on January 4. Meanwhile, "Trauma" which currently occupies the Mondays, has also been given three additional episodes that will bring the first season a total of 16. While ten of those would air before 2009 ends, the other six remain TBD.
