The unleashing of "The Last Airbender" teaser in June has left many yearning for more and wondering when the full trailer will arrive. Providing a ray of light for those who are waiting for it, producer Frank Marshall has revealed through his Twitter page that Christmas of 2009 is likely to be made even more special with the outing of the film's trailer.

On Sunday, August 23, Marshall spilled the beans that the filmmakers behind the M. Night Shyamalan's live-action adaptation of animation series "Avatar: The Last Airbender" are currently prepping for a Christmas trailer. "For those of you wondering about LAST AIRBENDER, all is well in post and we r working on a trailer for Xmas...," he tweeted. To which movie it will be attached remains undisclosed, but there is possibility that "Sherlock Holmes" will be the one.

Slated for July 2, 2010 U.S. release, "The Last Airbender" is a live-action film version of Nickelodeon's animated series of the same name. To be differentiated from James Cameron's "Avatar", it has dropped "Avatar" from its title. The film follows Aang and is set in a world where human civilization is divided into four nations: Water, Earth, Air and Fire.

With the help of a protective teenage Waterbender named Katara and her bull-headed brother Sokka, Aang proceeds on a perilous journey to restore balance to their war-torn world. But, his goal will meet a tough challenge from exiled Fire Nation's evil prince Zuko who is sent to capture the Avatar in order to restore his honor and right to the throne. It stars Noah Ringer as Aang, Dev Patel as Zuko, Nicola Peltz as Katara and Jackson Rathbone as Sokka.

when i saw the trailer i became very excited because i love the series, then i saw who was directing it and i became a like worried. m.nights work can be a little confusing and strange. some of his fims come off as if he just smoked something and started writing! so im a little,ok,a lot worried that he may bring that to this film and miss the true essence of one of the most well-written cartoon series i've ever seen

actually lexie he's not in the age group. dante basco is around 30. don't forget he played rufio in "Hook" back in 95 and he was around 15 then.

I think its because Shamalan has kinda turned it around a bit, fire nation are essentially indian/asian in decent, possibly due to the history of hot spices and fighting styles? However i have seen pictures of caucasian fire bender guards? So possibly just the royal family are asian? Water tribes seem to be causation, which doesnt really make much sense, but might be due to just casting, the two actors who got sokka and katara were better than the others? Im hoping Earth Kingdom will be a race in themselves like the fire benders if that is the case? I do agree Dante Basco would have been an excellent choice for Zuko, but it is a possibility that Dev was simply better and more like Shamalans vision of Zuko?

@Lexie: While I agree that Dev Patel is nothing like the Zuko I would like to see in the live action film, I assume they hired him b/c 1. He's a recognizable name coming off of Slumdog and 2. He is a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, which should help in the realism of the stunts. And when it comes down to it, he's also Asian, just not East Asian. Anyway, we'll see how this turns out!

ikr! I can't wait for the movie (although I am VERY disappointed about the Zuko selection. Dev Patel? really?)! I want to see how close it comes to the real Avatar TV show. I don't know why they didn't just hire Dante Basco (the real voice of Zuko) to portray Zuko! A) He's asian B) He's not doing any other project at the moment C) He's in the age group and D) He makes a better Zuko. Period. -Lexie♥
