14-year-old Susie Salmon had nothing but a wonderful life with a loving family and a mutual love interest. But, her young and blossoming life is abruptly taken from her when she is raped and murdered by her neighbor. The first official trailer of "The Lovely Bones" released by Paramount Pictures unravels glimpses of what the teen girl and her family deal with after she is dead.
Featuring Susie's voiceover as she introduces herself, the sneak peek to the drama film opens to an introduction from director/writer/producer Peter Jackson. Outed via Apple, it presents a look at how her family tries to uncover the mystery surrounding her death, and how Susie desperately watches over her killer who, having covered his tracks successfully, is preparing to murder again.
Adapted from Alice Sebold's best-selling novel, "The Lovely Bones" stars Saoirse Ronan as Susie, Susan Sarandon as her grandmother, Stanley Tucci as her killer, and Rachel Weisz and Mark Wahlberg as her parents. They are joined by Rose McIver, Michael Imperioli and Reece Ritchie in the cast ensemble. December 11 will be the date it opens wide in U.S. theaters.
