AceShowbiz - Shania Twain has been met with backlash following her new social media post. After treating her followers to the result of her shocking hair transformation, the "Any Man of Mine" hitmaker received unpleasant responses from many.
On Thursday, May 9, a number of social media users got candid with their thoughts on the 58-year-old's new look. Making use of Instagram, one in particular blasted the songstress, "This is ridiculous. This doesn't even look like Shania Twain and definitely not for the better." Another asked, "What happened to the woman that was beautiful just being herself," adding a crying face emoji.
A third, meanwhile, complained, "Is that her?! I literally would have never known. Ten years ago she was aging BEAUTIFULLY. And still had her style. This new version is just not it and I wish she would listen to us! Age gracefully!"
In the meantime, a fourth wrote a lengthy caption that read, "I don't even recognize Shania. She had such a beautiful face, before this. It's incredibly sad when women feel like they have to take it to this extreme, in the name of beauty."
On the other hand, some Instagram users compared Shania to fellow famous celebrities. Among them were singer Jessica Simpson, actress Sofia Vergara and late King of Pop Michael Jackson. Not stopping there, one user accused Shania of getting "new mouth and teeth."
The comments came after Shania shocked her fans with her hair makeover. On Tuesday, May 7, she uploaded on her Instagram page a photo highlighting her fresh look. In the snaps, it could be seen that she has traded her brunette hair for cotton candy pink tresses. She appeared to have maintained the length of the hair, which cascaded down her back. She styled it in a simple straight hairdo and parted it in the middle.
Along with the photos, Shania wrote in the caption of the post, "I love this outtake from the @hauteliving cover shoot because you can FEEL how much fun I was having. Expect me to be coloring my hair, doing what I dare in Vegas, sorry not sorry!!"
