A new song titled "Want" from Adam Lambert has emerged via Hi Fi Recordings. The track comes from the production hands of Malcolm Welsford and Mark Endert (Maroon 5, The Fray, Fiona Apple).

Furthermore, "Want" is confirmed to serve as the lead single from Adam's upcoming album "On With the Snow" which was recorded before he auditioned for "American Idol". The song is reportedly co-written by Adam*.

Claimed to carry Adam's pop/rock sound and style, "On With the Snow" is due for release this summer via Hi Fi Recordings/Wilshire Records. It is set to feature 11 or 12 songs which are varied from mid- and up-tempo songs, ballads and rock tunes.

Commenting on the soon-to-be-released record, CEO of Hi Fi Recordings John Hecker said, "We were presented with a business opportunity." He added, "We accepted because Wilshire Records had a long working relationship with Adam, and it resulted in excellent music that they had the rights to. The music has an audience, and it deserves to be heard. I think it's great music. At the end of the day, from my perspective, we're really helping Adam."

Adam Lambert who finished in the second place on season eight of Idol also has another studio album which is still in the works. This time, he partners with 19 Recordings/RCA and plots to work on it during Top 10 American Idol Summer Tour which will be started on July 5. He will drop it this fall.

* Update:
Adam Lambert released a statement regarding the arrival of "Want". He said, "Back in 2005 when I was a struggling artist, I was hired as a studio singer to lend my vocals to tracks written by someone else. I was broke at the time and this was my chance to make a few bucks, so I jumped at the opportunity to record for my first time in a professional studio. I'm thrilled to be working with some of today's hottest songwriters and producers and can't wait for people to hear what my music really sounds like."

Shocking that Hi Fi Recordings can feature Adam on their home page as if he was one of THEIR properties!!! I would think 19/RCA could do something to stop this.

If Adam touches it, it turns to gold. I love the song "Want" and I want to purchase it, because it's Adam singing it. A lot of people are capitalizing on Adam. Including Ebay, Jewelry companies, t-shirt companies, make-up companies, magazines, and many more. We, the fans, realize that this is not his new album. So, what's the harm?

Adam Lambert Pre-Idol..... Wilshire records had the song "December" on there website song by Dublyn Jones 6/19/09 which btw is the same song as "want" but I went there this morning and it's gone. I wish there were still real reporters in this world ...Their site had 12 to 14 songs by Dublyn Jones but they have all been removed except 3 or 4. It appears Wilshire Records will release an album of Adam Lambert DEMOS! ...they are not promoting an artist they are riding his coattails!

please correct your story and include Adam's statememnt re this release: "Back in 2005 when I was a struggling artist, I was hired as a studio singer to lend my vocals to tracks written by someone else. I was broke at the time and this was my chance to make a few bucks, so I jumped at the opportunity to record for my first time in a professional studio. The work I did back then in no way reflects the music I am currently in the studio working on. I'm thrilled to be working with some of today's hottest songwriters and producers and can't wait for people to hear what my music really sounds like."

they have mentioned it on paragraph 3: from Adam's upcoming album "On With the Snow" which was recorded before he auditioned for "American Idol".

LOL. You need to correct this Aceshowbiz. American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert recorded an album in 2005 before anyone had ever heard of him. Now, not shockingly, somebody is trying to cash in with these early recordings. A label called Hi Fi Recordings/Wilshire Records has just released a "single," called "Want," from the sessions, and an album, On With the Show, is due out later this summer. It's nothing more than a cheap cash-in. UPDATE: Lambert has just released a statement responding to the release of this new song: "Back in 2005 when I was a struggling artist, I was hired as a studio singer to lend my vocals to tracks written by someone else.

This song was NOT written by Adam!! He just released a statement saying he was paid as a session singer years ago to lend his vocals to demos for songs written by other people. This so-called album is being released by people just looking to make a quick buck off of Adam's name by releasing old stuff. Adam said it in NO WAY reflects the music he is working on now. This is not part of his new upcoming album. It is just people looking to profit off of Adam's newfound fame.
