Numbers of Musicians Do the New 'Nightmare Before Christmas' Soundtrack

To bring into life the plan to supply music for Tim Burton's "The Nightmare Before Christmas", which Disney about to bring to the big screen following its success after being released on VHS in 1994, numbers of musician have been tapped to do its soundtrack.
The likes of Fall Out Boy, Panic! At the Disco, Marilyn Manson, Fiona Apple and She Wants Revenge have all been booked to appear on a special two-disc edition of the "Nightmare" soundtrack, contributing cover versions of songs featured in the film. The double-disc set will hit stores October 24.
The New Pantheon Awards Finalists
January 13, 2006 03:01:42Numbers of names have been listed as the finalists for the inaugural New Pantheon Awards which replacing the Shortlist Prize in recognizing noteworthy albums that have sold fewer than 500,000 copies in the United States. Among the 10 names mentioned, there we have Fiona Apple, Antony and the Johnsons, and Arcade Fire.
Apple's "Extraordinary Machine", Arcade Fire's "Funeral", and Antony and the Johnsons' "I Am a Bird Now" will all vie for the award. The rest of the finalists among others include Animal Collective's "Feels," Bloc Party's "Silent Alarm," Death Cab for Cutie's "Plans," The Decemberists' "Picaresque," Kings of Leon's "Aha Shake Heartbreak," M.I.A.'s "Arular," and Sufjan Stevens' "Illinois."
Nickelback Tops Chart with the Right Reasons
October 13, 2005 01:10:37Canadian rock band Nickelback has nothing but all the right reasons to top the Billboard 200 albums chart Wednesday. This is the first time for them to have such attainment in which their album "All the Right Reasons" has become their first U.S. No. 1 album, sold 317,000 copies in its debut week. Chicago rapper Twista is at 2nd with "The Day After" sold nearly 129,000 copies.
Country star Sarah Evans' "Real Fine Place" opening at No. 3, ahead of Gretchen Wilson's "All Jacked Up" which drops to No. 4 from last week's No. 1 debut. Sheryl Crow's "Wildflowers" drops three places to No. 5 with 106,000 copies in its second week, followed by Kanye West's "Late Registration" at No. 6. Entering the chart at No. 7 is Fiona Apple's "Extraordinary Machine" which has been sold for 94,000 copies.
Extraordinary 'Fiona Apple' Machine
October 05, 2005 01:10:19Fiona Apple has an "Extraordinary Machine" that indeed makes her music career and attainment extraordinary as well. The first album the singer/songwriter produced in six years has been released Tuesday and already is the top-seller at Apple's iTunes Music Store.
In support of the new set, which is a follow-up to 1999's "When the Pawn...", Apple will embark on a three-week tour, beginning November 22 in Portland, Ore. Prior to that she will on Thursday perform and sign autographs at Tower Records in West Hollywood, Calif. While her touring band has yet to be announced, we've had her touring date.
An Extraordinary Apple
August 16, 2005 10:08:20The talented singer and songwriter Fiona Apple is about to come up with her new album entitled "Extraordinary Machine" under Epic Records on October 4. This ends the long speculations that the album would never be officially released due to the online leaking of some tracks.
In "Extraordinary Machine," Apple takes collaboration with Mike Elizondo, reworking nine of the album's tracks and adding a brand new one called, "Parting Gift." "Now that my album is finally finished, I am very, very excited to have people hear what we did--I am so proud of it, and all of us who worked on it," she says happily.
