Adam Lambert recently talked about his upcoming debut album and opened up that he will step behind song-writing desk for the effort. "We started writing, and I've been able to co-write on a handful of tracks and there's more to come," he told Oprah.com.

Prior to spilling the beans on his involvement in co-penning the album's tracks, Adam stated, "We started right away with meetings about the sound and the vibe." He added further, "They asked me, 'Do you know of any producers that you would really want to work with?' and I have short list of producers, and fortunately we connected with all the ones I wanted to connect with."

Moreover, Adam who finished in the second place in "American Idol" season eight shared his excitement on finishing the album's recording process. "I love it! I really love it. And I love the recording process as well. Coming up with something new and original is so exciting. That's the art of it all," he said.

"And then the performance is another level. 'American Idol' lets you explore yourself as a performer," Adam continued. "Being able to create the actual material you're writing takes it to a whole new level because I'm getting to write lyrics that are from my perspective and messages I want to get out there and feelings and ideas I want to share."

One of the producers who Adam Lambert works with is RedOne, the mastermind behind Lady GaGa's hit singles. On what kind of sounds they are crafting for the album, RedOne previously said, "I want to go rock -- David Bowie and Queen, but make it more easy for people to get. It has to be rock, but with an interesting dance angle to it, you know? You'll like it."

Adam's forthcoming album is scheduled to be released this fall under 19 Recordings/RCA.
