Asian-American Group OCA Demands 'Fuller Apology' From Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus

OCA's Executive Director, George Wu, insists the group will not back down unless Miley Cyrus issues another apology, a "fuller" one, concerning her "goofy picture".

Asian-American group OCA, which accuses Miley Cyrus to have offended the Asians as she's been photographed making slanty-eyed face, is blaming the teen star for not issuing "fuller apology" when she recently addressed the controversy. "It's not a real apology. We're not backing down," George Wu, Executive Director of the OCA is quoted as telling Celebuzz.

Wu further claims, "The picture is offensive and now this statement is inadequate," when referring to Miley's response which she wrote in a blog on her MileyWorld on Thursday, February 5. Miley herself has not yet commented on Wu's statement.

Earlier this week, a picture showing Miley Cyrus and some of her friends pull their eyelids back to look like Asians while one Asian-American male sits among them hit the web. Soon thereafter OCA issued a statement, calling the pic displays "an offensive, stereotypical gesture" and so demanded an apology from Miley.

Insisting she and her friends weren't purposely "making fun of any ethnicity!", Miley wrote on her MileyWorld blog, "There are some people upset about some pictures taken of me with friends making goofy faces! Well, Im sorry if those people looked at those pics and took them wrong and out of context!"

"I was simply making a goofy face. When did that become newsworthy? It seems someone is trying to make something out of nothing to me. If that would of been anyone else, it would of been overlooked! I definitely feel like the press is trying to make me out as the new 'BAD GIRL'!" she complained.

if you're a young disney female figure head i think you would know by now that you are in the public's eye and should watch what you do... because obviously the media is going to criticize what you do despite who you are what age you etc only b/c you are a media figure. also, for those who aren't asian and aren't offended by this... this is just my take on it. i feel like you guys probably haven't had much to relate to your ethnicity yet. being in college and a part of my ethnicity's social organization i was really able to relate to my culture and to have some teeny bopper mock my race... just because? what a dumb f****... seriously? what if asian gangs see these and they're not gonna take crap for that. way to be "smarter than you look"

i'm asian, and i found it extremely offensive, and anyone who does something racial, should have to apologize. even if she is 'just a normal girl', any normal person has to apologize. why should she get any special rights?

I think Miley should apologize. I'm Asian, but even if I weren't, I would still think Miley should apologize. Everyone thinks that she's just a kid, you know, just fooling around. But I think she gets away with too much, since she's famous and such.

im asian and whether or not she was being racist, she should just apologize. Theres going to be people and fans upset by the fact that she did this. I just think she needs to be more careful about her surroundings because she is in the public eye 24/7 so next time she should just not do this becase a lot of people will more than likely misunderstand this photo. No matter what the hell she was doing.

I don't know but she is just a kid. Maybe we shouldn't push too hard on hard. There are lots of ways we make positive energy, for example, to develop more Hollywood stars for our commmunity and media.

I agree with 604. She is a hillybilly redneck who has no right making fun of others.

She is a hillbilly hick after all. You can't really blame someone if they are completely ignorant and illbred. It's like punishing a puppy for peeing on the floor.
