TV

The character that was written out of the medical drama series will return as a flashback in the 15th season.

AceShowbiz - Anthony Edwards' character in "ER" may have been killed in the 179th episode, but it will be revived, not literally, but as a flashback. Playing Dr. Mark Greene, Edwards was one of the original cast that were introduced in the beginning of the series. Serving the purpose of its final season, NBC announced that Edwards is due to reprise his role in one episode which will be shot within next week.

NBC announced further on Thursday, September 4, that Greene will appear in the episode called "Heal Thyself" which is planned to air on November 13. Edwards will share some scenes with Angela Bassett who was introduced earlier as the new cast of "ER" for the 15th season as Dr. Cate Banfield.

According to the network, the episode will resolve around Greene's last hours before his death of brain tumor. It will also give some insight into the past of Banfield's life. Not only Greene will get a share of flashback but the episode will also "feature other characters from the show's past."

No more reprising names has been outed by NBC, but it had been announced that Dr. John Carter who is portrayed by Noah Wyle. will appear in four episodes of the coming season. It was also rumored that George Clooney may do another favor for the show by returning as Dr. Doug Ross for an episode but there has been no confirmation on that yet.

The 15th season premiere will start on Thursday, September 25.
