'Batman Returns' Villain Danny DeVito to Woo Kristen Bell in 'Rome'

The actor who portrayed The Penguin in 'Batman Returns' has been signed to play in Walt Disney's latest comedy movie 'When in Rome', in which he will be romancing Kristen Bell.

AceShowbiz - Danny DeVito, the depicter of Batman's archenemy, Oswald Cobblepot a.k.a. The Penguin, in "Batman Returns" reportedly will be starring in romantic comedy "When in Rome" opposite Kristen Bell, the star of television series "Veronica Mars". According to Hollywood Reporter, the 63-year-old actor has been signed to play in the Walt Disney Pictures' film.

The two-time co-star of actor Arnold Schwarzenegger in comedy films "Twins" and "Junior" is said to be taking the role of one of Bell's aggressive suitors. However, details about the character DeVito will be portraying has yet to be unveiled. The "Be Cool" actor will be joining the supporting cast that include Will Arnett, Josh Duhamel, Jon Heder, Anjelica Huston and Dax Shepard.

Directed and co-scripted by "Ghost Rider" helmer/scribbler Mark Steven Johnson, "Rome" will see Bell as a love-starved New York curator whose action in taking a coin from a reputed "fountain of love" in Rome led to her being chased by an overabundance of suitors. The Disney's film is going to start its filming in April 2008 in New York.
