Jay-Z reportedly intends to set up a film version of his new album "American Gangster", which itself is inspired by Denzel Washington-starred movie of the same name.

AceShowbiz - Getting inspiration for his upcoming album "American Gangster" from the movie of the same name starring Denzel Washington, Jay-Z apparently is also inspired to develop a big screen version of the record.
"What I really plan to do is shoot [American Gangster, the album] as a movie. Like a better Streets is Watching," so the rap mogul informed AllHipHop.com in a recent interview. "Doing it like a musical. Real stories and get somebody in there that�s [going do to]...real writing. Someone to shoot it like �Godfather.� I know that�s a little ungracious, but that�s how you gotta place it..."
It is further revealed on the site that Jay-Z also plans to take a starring part in the film project, presumably as the lead actor. Whether the man will materialize it soon, however, is still unclear yet, so keep sticking to AceShowbiz for more info and updates of the subject.
