Chase Palmer Pays Tribute to "Evolution's Captain"

"Number Thirteen" director Chase Palmer is on duty to both write and direct "Evolution's Captain" based on a 2003 book penned by Peter Nichols.

Taking a step further into filmmaking, Chase Palmer has been appointed to both write and direct a project involving Charles Darwin entitled "Evolution's Captain" for Focus Features with Cathy Schulman producing.

Based on Peter Nichols' 2003 book of "Evolution's Captain: The Dark Fate of the Man Who Sailed Charles Darwin Around the World", the picture will focus on the relationship between Darwin and the captain of the H.M.S. Beagle Robert FitzRoy plus their debate over the theory of evolution.

Palmer, who made his foray into filmmaking through a 2003 feature entitled "Neo-Noir", is currently attached to also write and direct fictional mystery thriller "Number Thirteen" which will begin filming this winter with Dan Fogler and Ewan McGregor starring.
