Jamie Foxx Added to the 78th Oscars Presenters

Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx has been added to the long list of presenters of the 78th Academy Awards. Producer Gil Cates announced the star's involvement in the significant event Wednesday January 18th, 2006.

Academy Awards for Outstanding Film Achievements of 2005 will be presented on Sunday, March 5, 2006, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland, and televised live by the ABC Television Network beginning at 5 p.m. PST.

Stars Set to Perform at Next Month's Super Bowl

Grammy Award-winning singer Aretha Franklin has been tapped to perform the US national anthem at next month's Super Bowl. The star will join New Orleans singer Aaron Neville and both are about to be accompanied at the national football championship by another veteran New Orleans musician, pianist Dr. John.

Commenting on the threesome collaboration, NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said "The combination of all three should present a very memorable performance." Other stars set to join the already mentioned lineup among others are John Legend, Joss Stone, and Stevie Wonder, all of whom will perform the later singer's hits as part of the Super Bowl pre-game show, which will be broadcast live on ABC.

Oscar-Winning Actress Holly Hunter Has Twins

Oscar-winning actress Holly Hunter has doubled her joy as she's given birth to twins, publicist Nicole Caruso told People magazine on Wednesday Jan 18th.

"She had the babies," said Caruso. "They are happy and healthy." The newly born babies reportedly are the first for Hunter and her British actor husband Gordon MacDonald.

Lange & Blanchard to Star in the Remake of "Sybil"

Gaining more popularity and public notice through her 1976 flick "King Kong," actress Jessica Lange will next star in CBS' remake of "Sybil." Based on Flora Rheta Schreiber's best-selling book of the same name, "Sybil" describes the real-life treatment from 1954-65 of a young woman who suffered from multiple personality disorder.

Team up with Tammy Blanchard, the twosome is about to portray the roles made famous by Joanne Woodward and Sally Field in NBC's 1976 adaptation. As of Blanchard, she's set to play the title character who's after a suicide attempt is introduced to psychiatrist Dr. Corneila Wilbur played by Lange. During their sessions, Sybil, who confides that she frequently loses her memory and can't account for large blocks of time, slowly remembers the physical, emotional and sexual abuse to which she was subjected as a child by her mentally disturbed mother.

Swank & Lowe Trying to Save Marriage

Houston & Brown Planning to Divorce?

The 14-years marriage of notable singer Whitney Houston and husband Bobby Brown is said on rocks, which then triggered further rumors claiming they're heading for divorce. Per the New York Daily News, Brown was overheard telling friends and acquaintances he is divorcing Houston after an infamously tumultuous marriage.

Tracing back what triggered the divorce report was probably Brown's being seen flirting with a group of beauties backstage at an all-star concert featuring R&B groups SWV, Guy and Blackstreet at the Foxwoods Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut.

William Shatner's Kidney Stone Sold for Charity

Actor William Shatner has a very distinct, unique maybe, way to earn money for charity. The Hollywood star sold his kidney stone for $25,000, with the money going to a housing charity.

Shatner reached agreement Monday January 16th to sell the stone to GoldenPalace.com, noted for its collection of oddities, which includes a partially eaten cheese sandwich thought to contain the image of the Virgin Mary.

Original Draft of 'A Day in the Life' Up for Sale

The original draft of the lyrics to The Beatles' classic "A Day in the Life" which was written by late John Lennon up for sale Tuesday January 17th.

Speaking on the auction, Bonhams auction house announced the manuscript will be sold in a sealed-bid auction ending March 7.

Rapper Juvenile Arrested on Child Support Warrant

Rapper Juvenile was arrested in central Florida Friday January 13th on a warrant related to a child support case. The 30-year-old star was taken into custody at The Ritz Hotel in Ocala without incident.

Juvenile was arrested because of an outstanding child support warrant, yet released on his own recognizance that evening in time to make his performance at Ghost House Nightclub.

Sharon Stone & Rick Fox Are Absolutely Not An Item

Hollywood actress Sharon Stone breaks her silence, insisting rumors of her romantic involvement with Vanessa Williams' ex-husband Rick Fox are untrue. As for everybody to know, American publication In Touch once reported that Stone has been romantically involved with the sports star, but either one is keen to keep their romance a big secret for the time being.

A.A.J. Holdings, an urban development company owned by Bahraini businessman Ahmed Abu Bakr Janahi, said it wanted to hire the pop superstar to give advice on setting up entertainment businesses. This makes sense of course remembering that Jackson in fact is an entertainer.
