'Mad Money' Stars Hit the Green Carpet

On Wednesday night, January 9, the Westwood's Mann Village Theater was filled with Hollywood stars as it hosted the premiere of Overture Films' comedy movie which due to hit theaters on January 18. At the special star-studded screening, the "Mad Money" leading lady, Katie Holmes, didn't walk down the usual red carpet, instead they grazed the special-dollar green carpet.

In attending her first premiere event as Mrs. Cruise, Holmes was accompanied by her husband, Tom Cruise and joined by her co-stars Diane Keaton and Queen Latifah. The 29-year-old actress was dressed in a silver beaded Armani mini-dress. Aside from the three leading ladies, the premiere was also attended by the many of the cast members, including Adam Rothenberg, Finesse Mitchell, J.C. Mackenzie and Peyton Smith. It was also attended by its director and writer, Callie Khouri.

Preceding the premiere of "Mad Money" on January 18, 2008, Overture Films has released 9 new clips from the new comedy movie starring Diane Keaton, Queen Latifah and Katie Holmes. "Mad Money" tells the story of a suburban mother who is on the verge of losing her comfortable upper class lifestyle, Bridget Cardigan, a hard-working single mom, Nina Brewster, and an exuberant free spirit, Jackie Truman. It is a comedy about three ordinary women that bonded on an unlikely friendship as they decide to rob one of the most secure banks in the world.

In promoting its upcoming heist comedy "Mad Money", Overture Films as the studio distributing the flick nationwide has collaborated with the California Lottery to partner in creating a movie-themed Scratchers game featuring the movie.

Images of the flick's three leading ladies Katie Holmes, Diane Keaton, and Queen Latifah will be printed on the special-edition tickets, which will be available at over 19,000 Lottery retail locations throughout the U.S. starting late this month. Still opts to linger in comedy genre after "Nobel Son", Ted Danson has signed on to take starring part in comedic caper "Mad Money", a remake of British TV-movie "Hot Money" produced by Big City Pictures, Lightspeed Media, and Swingin' Productions LLC for Millennium Films to distribute.

Toplined by Diane Keaton, Queen Latifah, and Katie Holmes, the movie is set in Kansas City, Missouri and revolves around three co-workers who form a plan steal money that is about to be destroyed at the Federal Reserve Bank. Returning to acting scene after maternity leave, Katie Holmes has taken a starring role in "Mad Money", an adventure comedy of Big City Pictures, Lightspeed Media, and Swingin' Productions LLC production.

Based on British TV-movie "Hot Money", the project follows three female employees working at the Federal Reserve as they form plot to steal money that is about to be destroyed. Filming is intended to be shot Shreveport, Louisiana with Callie Khouri directing as well as rewriting the script originally penned by Glenn Gers.

Queen Latifah to Grab All the "Money"

Still puts priority on her career in film industry rather than that in music scene, Queen Latifah is on the brink to add her next stint in her acting resume. Production Weekly has reported that the "Chicago" star is currently in talks to have a role in "Mad Money", the remake of the 2001 British TV-movie feature "Hot Money."

If a deal is signed, Latifah will likely to play Liz, one of the janitors on a night cleaning crew at a Federal Reserve bank in which Diane Keaton's character, Bridget, also works. The film itself will follow the latter one as she figures out a creative way to get money in her effort to pay debts and avoid losing her house.
