'Half-Blood Prince' to Get Worldwide Live Community Screening
October 20, 2009 12:10:59The Blu-ray and 2-Disc Special Editions of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" will be made available for purchase on December 8. In celebration of the release, fans who own the Blu-ray Disc are offered the chance to watch the movie live in first-ever worldwide Live Community Screening (LCS), which will take place on December 12 at 12:00 P.M. PST (3:00 P.M. EST).
Star Daniel Radcliffe and director David Yates will join the screening from London in addition to taking participation in an interactive Q&A session where they will answer questions about the blockbuster film. Of the chance for a Q&A, Yates said, "It's a tremendous honor to be invited to host the first worldwide Live Community Screening and to have the opportunity to talk directly to fans across the globe."

'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince' Crowned Box Office's King

Added with the Wednesday's (July 15) earning of $58.2 million and Thursday's (July 16) sales of $22 million, the Daniel Radcliffe-starring adventure fantasy has sold $158 million worth of ticket sales on its first five days screening in North American only. The five-day tally is a modest jump from the $139.7 million its predecessor "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" collected in July 2007.

'Half-Blood Prince' Passes 100 Million Mark in Just 24 Hours

After breaking midnight sales opening record in U.S. box office, the movie has broken a record of worldwide opening day tally by collecting a total of $104 million. Within just 24 hours since its premiere on Wednesday, July 15, the film gained $58.2 million from domestic sales and $45.9 million from ticket sales overseas.
The $58.2 million domestic bow marked the best start ever for the "Harry Potter" franchise. It also made "Half-Blood Prince" ranked second for U.S. biggest Wednesday opening ever, placing the movie behind "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" which collected $62 million. In addition, the big number scored the Daniel Radcliffe-starring movie the fourth largest debut for any release day of the week behind "The Dark Knight", "Transformers" sequel and "Spider-Man 3".

'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince' Sets New Midnight Record
July 16, 2009 12:07:18"Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" has set a new record for all-time midnight openings. According to its distributor Warner Bros., the sixth installment of "Harry Potter" series has raked in $22.2 million from its midnight screenings in North America, which is $10 million more than what "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" earned from midnight shows which took place in the same Wednesday slot.
With such amount, "Half-Blood Prince" has taken the crown from previous record holders Warners' "The Dark Knight", which collected $18.5 from midnight shows last summer, as well as 20th Century Fox's "Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith" which grossed $17 million over its midnight opening. The latest movie from J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter" series also beat up this summer's biggest hit "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" which pulled in $16 million from its opening night back in June.

'Harry Potter' Stars Go to New York for 'Half-Blood Prince' U.S. Premiere

Attending the special screening event held specifically on Thursday, July 9, its cast and crew were greeted by blue skies and rabid fans.

Two Fresh 'Half-Blood Prince' Clips Crawl Out
July 10, 2009 10:07:26A week shy of its theatrical premiere, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" unleashes two more fresh clips. The two clips pick up different themes, one that comes out via MSN exposes the impending danger Harry and the wizarding world are facing, while the other which gets out courtesy of MTV focuses more on the 'romance in the air' tone.
The MSN clip is called "Handful of People". It gives out a scene inside the Burrows wherein Harry, Mr.Weasley, Tonks and Lupin sit together to talk about how the danger may have penetrated Hogwarts. In the meantime, the MTV clip is titled "Table for Three". 'Harry Potter' Returns to London for 'Half-Blood Prince' World Premiere
July 08, 2009 10:07:31Ending a two-year wait for its July release, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" finally held its world premiere on Tuesday, July 7, in the United Kingdom. The red carpet event took place at Odeon Leicester Square, London, and despite the heavy downpours and hailstorms, it was flocked with thousands of "Harry Potter" fans.
Also undeterred by the bad weather were the film's cast which among whom included the trio of Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint. Coming to the special screening, Daniel wore stylish gray suit with pink shirt underneath, Emma was dressed in a vintage dress from '60s designer Ossie Clark, while the recovering from swine-flu Rupert was captured in a traditional black and white suit with a touch of pink in his belt.

First aired on Friday, July 3, the special featurette will be broadcast through July 31 on certain dates.
"Inside Look" is basically a promo video with comments from the stars on some particular scenes as well as what happen behind the curtain. New 'Half-Blood Prince' Photo Sees Ron and Lavender

New Hermione and On-Set Photos of 'Half-Blood Prince'

IMAX Release of 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince' Delayed
June 08, 2009 04:06:05"Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" won't see a simultaneous release in both conventional and IMAX theaters, TV Watch Online revealed. Claiming to have received an e-mail about the matter, the site reported that the sixth installment of the "Harry Potter" series won't be opened in IMAX theaters until July 29, two weeks after its release in traditional theaters.
On the reason behind the release delay, IMAX pointed out on their agreement with Paramount for "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen". They explained, "The film will open in 35mm theaters on the 15th; however, it will not open in IMAX theaters until the 29th. Basically what happened is IMAX Corporation signed a contract with Paramount guaranteeing them a 4 week exclusive window if they filmed parts of Transformers 2 with IMAX cameras onto IMAX film (something that is quite a bit more expensive)."

"Half-Blood Prince" won't be the first "Harry Potter" movie to have a Wednesday release in summer. The fifth installment of J.K. Rowling's novel series, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix", was also released mid-week in July two years ago, on July 11, 2007 to be exact, and went on to earn $139.7 million over its five days start and continued to collect $938.2 million in worldwide total.

New 'Half-Blood Prince' Trailer to Debut via Satellite
April 14, 2009 09:04:28After releasing "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" teaser trailer via satellite last year, Warner Bros. will once again use a satellite feed to debut a new trailer for the action fantasy. Through a press release, the studio announced that the trailer will be premiered on Thursday, April 16, at 9 P.M. EDT/6 P.M. PDT.
In addition to the Thursday debut, the trailer will also go up live on satellite feed the next day on Friday, April 17 at 6 A.M. EDT/3 A.M. PDT. April 01, 2009 11:04:20A new trailer of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" has been screened Tuesday, March 31, at 2009 ShoWest convention in Las Vegas and Cinema Blend has shared on what is shown during the trailer presentation. While the trailer description from the site hints that many of the footage may be similar to the previous one, it lets out that there will be additional footage to be seen.
Pointing out that the trailer focuses more on Draco Malfoy, Cinema Blend revealed there will be one particular scene which cannot be found in the book. The sixth book was awesome, but the seventh... i hate to say being a guy and all, but i cried like a little girl at the end. Every book in the series sucks you so far into the plot that i admire you if you can put it down. I read the 7th book in 2 days, and have read it twice since. I wish there were more coming, and i can say that i am truly sad to say goodbye to the harry potter legacy!!

We already got a taste of them in OoTP during Snape's worst memory (best part of the book), and that made me want to read more about the Marauders and their adventures at Hogwarts. If JK wrote a book about that I would buy it in an instant and I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one.

That position is given to Severus Snape while Slughorn takes the Potions classes, which you would know if you actually read the books and were a true fan.

I was afraid they weren't going to do justice to JKR's excellent novels, but they've done a great job so far and this one promises to be at least as good. And yeah, I have to admit, those actors have gone from cute little kids in the first couple films, to teenaged hotties now. (Tom Riddle, OTOH, seems to undergo a reverse transformation, since we see him as teenaged hottie in CoS. <g>)

I think it's a shame that they missed a couple of features in the film that are in the book. Lets just hope that it hasbeen worth it.

I love the Half-blood prince the most, because 75%- more or less- of the book, harry kind of gets a normal life, as normal as wizarding worlds get. ehehehe,but honestly love the books, however I was disappointed in deathly hallows when the war started. BUT, cheers to J K Rowling..she's got amazing writing talents

I loved and hated Harry potter six because it was the best one so far, the action, the romance and all the questions that get answered in this book. But, i hated it cause it was so sad!! Why did J.K. Rowling have to kill off Dumbledore! And then in the next book she kills off like ten people!!! But, of course, Hermione and Ron get married, as well as harry and Ginny!! I love the Harry potter series!!!! I dont think i could survive without Harry potter! It Rocks!!!(Just like Ron!!! He's so hot!!!)

It looks like the movies are getting better and better with tenonalinty and the action is a heart stopping thriller! I so can't wait!

For the director, and I use that title loosely, to admit to leaving out the epic battle but only because there is another battle in the upcoming film…isn’t there a battle in all of them? The battle at the end of HBP is so epic in nature that I really don’t understand why it would be left out? It preferences so many things to come…I mean really. You chose to just let the death eaters walk out? Shame on you! Shame on the disgrace you bring to this franchise! Shame on the disgrace you have done to this story! I am so disappointed in this movie that I would have rated it no stars if I could have…TERRIBLE!!!

Too many things were changed and things happened in the movie that never even happened in the book. Important characters were left out, the whole movie just didn't even flow well. Not to say they weren't some gorgeous scenes in the movie (Dumbledore and Harry's journey to the cave and everything that happened there w/ the inferi and stuff) but overall it wasn't one of the best potter films. Didn't stay true to the book. I wouldn't pay another 10 bucks to go and see it again at the theatre.

posted by lia_hana on Aug 12, 2009The movie matched up to the readers expectations , I think. I did mine. The movie was excellent...it had just as much dramatic and romantic impact as the book had. It was excellent . Definetely tops the HArry Potter movies as #1 by far....and so far. I have read all of the Harry Potter books and my favorite ones are the sixth, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and the seventh, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. And I cant wait until the seventh movie comes out I here their splitting it in two for the epilogue also...so it will definitely turn out interesting. But overall this Harry Potter movie was fantastic.

I hated it instead of more memories like in the book they added more kissing scenes, the only reason it made so much money is because people didn't know how bad it was going to be. I was very dissapointed, the book was so much better. How could you leave out a fight scene, you must be retarted to do that. The movie was a ciscrace to the book. I was very disapointed. some people think it was just like the book. WHAT? If you think it was just like the book you didn't read it or your mistaken because it was nothing like the book. Terrible terrible movie.It wasn't just that, The last two movies and #3 were missing the story of harry potter. It doesn't have the same feel or story of the book which is dissapointing.I don't realy know what it is but all the missing details make the story differen't. Like the romance makes the movie less like harry potter, If I didn't know the title I would not know what movie it was. The movies are becoming less magical and war to love and hormones. That is not what harry potter is about.

Ron has a new girlfriend named Lavender Brown.But Hermione feels left heartbroken because she finally wants him to notice her. Or she has some feeling for him!I love the whole new adventure! But the sad and horrible scene is when.....Dumbledore DIES! Because he was killed by his least fav person! SNAPE! Well, I read the book and he had to die! Because of that cursed ring and cause him to plan this whole death! Well, he is the coolest and most wise of all! I think this is the coolest and saddest movie of all time! Because he will leave Harry his final information in order to defeat VOLDEMORT once and for all! THIS IS THE BEST MOVIE EVER! And the number one movie of all time!!!!!!
